WBB Recruiting 2017 and On

If the recruit is a quality person and she is a life long Hawkeye fan with a smile and a fist-pump irrespective of extended family orientation. Very glad she is coming and hope she ignores the irrevelant societal comment that has nothing to do with her future as a Hawkeye! Welcome aboard and hope you have a great experience wearing the black and gold.
Edit above... I welcome her with a smile and a fist pump...

[Kate] Martin guarded the 6-foot-1[Brea] Beal as a freshman last season when she was an all-stater, so she knows what to expect. Beal is one of the top recruits in the nation for the 2019 class according to ESPN. She averaged 16.7 ppg and 6.7 rpg as a freshman.

She’s good. She’s big time,” Martin said of Beal. “I get very excited (for these matchups). I do my research, I watch film, I do everything I can so I’m prepared.

If Martin is a 2018 recruit, she would have been a junior this year, not a soph as the story says.

The caption is taken from a photo of the game from last year (2016) when they first met (and Brea was a freshman). This year was their second time playing against each other.

Internet Trolls Are Narcissists, Psychopaths, and Sadists
Trolls will lie, exaggerate, and offend to get a response.

Jennifer Golbeck Ph.D

In [the September 2014] issue of Personality and Individual Differences, a study was published that confirms what we all suspected: Internet trolls are horrible people.

Let's start by getting our definitions straight: An Internet troll is someone who comes into a discussion and posts comments designed to upset or disrupt the conversation. Often, in fact, it seems like there is no real purpose behind their comments except to upset everyone else involved. Trolls will lie, exaggerate, and offend to get a response.

[...]Trolls truly enjoy making you feel bad. [...]

The next time you encounter a troll online, remember:
  1. These trolls are some truly difficult people.
  2. It is your suffering that brings them pleasure, so the best thing you can do is ignore them.

That is a surprise about Jaime. I can see why, but I thought she would be at Linn-Mar until she tried college coaching. The long commute and a young child make changes happen.

The same source also recently (since the beginning of this month) reported that both Cyndi [Dodd] and Sydney [Parrish] had received offers from Georgia Tech and also that Cyndi had been offered by Duke while Sydney was offered by Maryland.

Raoul tweeted that Sydney [Parrish] 6'0" G (IN-2020) has added Syracuse to her known list of offers in addition to Iowa, Maryland and Georgia Tech.

Kaylah Rainey, Belleville East basketball
A 5-foot-7 sophomore guard, Rainey got off to a hot start in the Salem Wildcat Thanksgiving Tournament. She opened the tournament by scoring a team-high 21 points, dishing out four assists and making six steals to lead the Lancers to an 83-67 win over Highland. The Lancers fell to Salem 50-46, but Rainey was on her game, finishing with a team-high 16 points and five steals. She then helped the Lancers rebound to beat Centralia 76-47 by putting 24 points, eight steals, six assists and four rebounds. Rainey has been named to the ESPN Top 100 Team for the Class of 2019. Last season, she averaged a team-best 10.2 points.

A couple things here. First, 2019 is a long way away, however, I ' d expect Bluder to keep a tight roster as she has in the past... 12-13 players to keep people happy and involved on a day to day basis. Secondly, Bluder seems to be perfectly willing to take a shot with shorter guards which should offer additional promise for a player like Rainey. Who knows what happens when you are dealing with 15/16 year olds. Bluder and her staff's lives are reliant on such people... would drive me crazy!

Simply The Best - Ames, Iowa

Caitlin Clark 2020 5’10 PG All Iowa Attack 15u Nike
Clark has a very mature game for a kid who has yet to play her first high school game. Her court vision and ability to make great passes made things easy for her teammates. She also showed a tight handle and range from beyond the arc.

Judging from the 'Simply the Best' mixtape from last summer, I'd say that she made it based In her exemplary passing skills.

Undoubtedly she can score in a variety of ways (both inside and outside) as well as any one, but not many, if any, are as willing and able to share the ball like I saw in that video clip. That is a very admirable and desirable quality.

New Blue Star rankings are out.
Brea Beal #2 for 2019
Sydney Parrish #2 for 2020
Caitlin Clark jumps to #7 after making the 16U team.
Paige Bueckers at #10 after also making the 16U team.
