Who's Getting the Fall COVID Vaccine?

The flu vaccine is not necessary for young healthy people either. The cdc implies this on their website.

"Vaccination to prevent flu and its potentially serious complications is particularly important for people who are at higher risk of developing serious flu complications." Cdc website

The following conditions are considered higher risk.

Covid is similar to influenza and if you do not fall in the high risk category, you will receive little benefit from the vaccine, in some situations the side effects of the vaccine may be worse than the illness itself.

You are obviously not a physician.

How bad do you think covid is currently?

What do you mean "bad"?

How big will outbreaks get?

I expect it to follow similar to flu seasons. Only, because it's more infectious it might hit earlier than flu, and could spread to more people.

It already shows smaller outbreaks in summertime, when flu rarely hits us.

Yet they (and most doctors) STILL recommend the flu vaccines for ALL adults who are capable of getting those vaccines (e.g. do not have some condition that prevents vaccination).

What happens if I type in bold and italic?
Does that make what I say more important and you should listen to what I have to say?

Covid is done with and was always blown out of proportion, pack up all your crappy covid vaccines and hit the road!

Covid is done with

No. It is not.

Unlike many other viruses, Covid has found repositories in LOTS of other mammals other than humans (e.g. cats, dogs, zoo animals, deer, etc).

This give it MANY MORE places to mutate and become another highly serious virus. Viruses that ONLY infect humans are far less likely to be able to mutate into something much worse for us.

Scientists will continue to monitor it, like they continue to monitor influenza strains that could initiate another flu pandemic of a novel flu strain.

Covid has killed 5x to 8x more US adults <65 in 2023 than flu has.

You are an uninformed idiot here.

So are you trying to say our amazing president is an idiot as well. He said covid was over as well. I’m sure he has much more knowledge at his fingertips then you do.

Older folks should probably get the RSV vaccine this fall. Expected to be approved in a few days.

I haven't heard about monkey pox for a while. Did we beat that one?
It’s bad, man. Real bad. 🥴

(BBC) - Scientists briefing journalists about the current outbreak said they feared the new vstrain was being spread more easily, causing more serious disease and more deaths in children and adults.
There is also concern over the risk of asymptomatic spread between people who do not have symptoms and are unaware they have the virus.
The current case figures are "the tip of the iceberg", said Prof Trudie Lang, professor of global health research at the University of Oxford.
"It's definitely the most dangerous strain yet.
"We don’t know how many non-severe cases are hidden."
It is also not clear how fast the new strain spreads or whether current vaccines will protect against it. Trials will be needed to work this out, which will take time.
The global outbreak of mpox that spread across Europe and America in 2022 was sexually transmitted and driven by men who have sex with men. It was caused by the Clade II mpox virus.
The new strain is from the more deadly Clade I but is distinct from other outbreaks which have previously affected the region. It can also be spread through non-sexual contact, which makes it more dangerous.
Many children have been infected, including newborn babies during pregnancy.
There have been reports of a small number of infected pregnant women miscarrying their babies.
And some patients have been left with long-term complications with their eyes, skin and genitals.
One healthcare worker looking after an infected patient is reported to have lost her sight after becoming infected herself.
In cases in DR Congo to date, the new strain has a mortality rate of 4% in adults and 10% in children.

Poor access to vaccines

John Claude Udahemuka, a lecturer at the University of Rwanda who is monitoring the eastern DR Congo outbreak, said the first person with the new strain was likely to have been a man who had sex with a woman in Kamituga and then with other women in several different locations.
The disease first appeared in the rainy season when the roads were bad and there was limited movement of people. He warned the current dry season could see more transmission, particularly during school holidays.
The South Kivu health department's Mr Masirika said: "If we can vaccinate sex workers plus health workers, I think cases can be reduced."
African researchers have called for urgent actionto improve research into the mpox virus and speed up the distribution of vaccines.
Earlier this month, the WHO said the continuing development of the mpox outbreak in DR Congo was "concerning".
It pointed to limited public awareness of mpox, a lack of treatment kits and vaccines and the country's many other health priorities as factors in the appearance of a new strain.

Vaccine program = shell game.

The most susceptible group are men who have sex with men (MSM). Transgender and gender-fluid people are also at a higher risk of catching the disease.

Yeah, I’m good.
IIRC, M-Pox is transmitted by contact. Just don't come into contact with anyone (or anything they've recently touched) and you should be fine.

That's my plan. It worked last year.

Risk to children is almost nonexistent
Risk to healthy children is almost non existent. Risk to premature babies or kids with health complications is a different issue. This was posted more than a year ago when we knew my daughter in law was high risk with her pregnancy and if she delivered preterm and baby had to go to the NICU we would not be able to visit without all of our vaccines up to date. No way was I going to miss out on seeing my grandbaby over a simple vaccine.

Congrats on getting vaxxed!

I got my 7th covid vaccine last week and feel great.

The folks who post this disinformation do not give a shit about the people who are more vulnerable to Covid/flu and doing something to protect them.

It is well-established that in the first few months of vaccination, your likelihood of contracting and spreading either virus is demonstrably lower; which is why we recommend these vaccines in the fall when the viruses are typically spreading more rapidly. Only, with Covid, we're finding it likes to spread in the summertime as well, when people congregate indoors in the air conditioning - flu is not as infectious and generally does not spread then as well. Just another reason why Covid is a more dangerous virus than flu is.

Flu shots are worthless. Mainstream media even admitted this before being completely bought out by Big Pharma.
