Why do they not wrestle for Silver medal matches? More confusing than the seeding to me. I'll hang up and listen.

They do this at World Team trials mini tourament...

If the runner up did not wrestle the 3rd place finisher assuming the winner of mini tournament then wrestles someone with a bye to the best of three.

As the "National Team" pays a money stipend, the wrestle for the true "third".

A better question would be, why do they give out two bronze medals?
A first, a second, two thirds and two fifths...
