WWE Raw

This was great.

Also, is there a bigger charisma vacuum than Raquel Rodriguez. I can't think of a more boring worker on the roster currently.

I've been watching this stuff for 40 years and we are truley in a golden era, the quality of matches, the crowds. the presentation, the story-telling....long-term stroy-telling is unlike any thing I can recall...attitude era was a fun ride, but it was throw crap against the wall and see what sticks....and then hit it with a steel chair and make it bleed and flash some puppies to pop a rating. This is cinema more often than it is not...

The NWO was really good right up until Hogan ruining it at Starcade. Then it went all down hill. I’m still partial to the mid 80’s NWA. But in terms of production value and everything else added in you are correct.

NWO did start really hot, but I don't think they had much long-term direction for it, much like RAW was crash-tv, I feel NWO went that way pretty quickly. Mid 80's Crockett was pretty good, it's just you'd rarely see a good match on the TBS shows because tv was used to sell tickets vs. tv being the focus of revenue. But Dusty could book a great program.

The NWO angle would have been Sting wing clean. Then having the NWO break up and been a clear kick off between Nash and Hogan factions. Hogan flexing his creative control prevented long term planning. So it wasn’t only crash TV. Bischoff and the undercard could have everything booked and worked out. But ten minutes before Niitro that doesn’t work for me brotha. And it wouldn’t just be Hogan , but his stooges as well. Or anyone he saw as a threat or didn’t kiss his ass. The Flock wasn’t allowed to beat anyone. Anybody outside of the top 10 wasn’t allowed any chance to move up.

Penta vs Steiner is interesting. No I won’t call him Breakker. Curious to see if Bron can take the destroyer and Penta’s finisher. Especially the finisher.

Not sure if Bron is growing on me or if I'm getting tired of Finn's character, but I found myself rooting for Bron at the end.

Also his traps are massive.

Last night I watched some highlights from Friday an I saw the Piper/Alba vs Katana/Kayden match and for some reason it just kind of bothered me.

Like, they shelf Kayden and Katana for months and bring them back as a jobber? You shitcan Isla Dawn, who had a decent gimmick with Fyre adn then you put Fyre and Piper into a tag match where they don't even wear real gear? Felt like all 4 of them deserved a better booking than that.
