Border Patrol Releases Known Terrorist Into USA

The border continues to be a fricking joke.

Terrorist

An Afghan migrant on the terrorist watchlist spent nearly a year inside the U.S. after he was apprehended and released by Border Patrol agents last year, U.S. officials told NBC News. The man was arrested in February and then released last month again by an immigration judge who was not told he was a national security threat.

Crazy Tyreek Hill story

I’m surprised this hasn’t been posted yet but I searched “Tyreek” and it didn’t come up:

Model sues Hill

A model and social media influencer is suing Miami Dolphins wide receiver Tyreek Hill, alleging he broke her leg during a football lesson at his home last June.

Sophie Hall, a model with more than two million Instagram followers, alleges in the lawsuit that Hill “forcefully and purposefully shoved” Hall after she “humiliated” and “enraged” him by knocking him backward during a football blocking drill. Hall filed the civil lawsuit on Feb. 23 in Broward County, Fla., alleging battery, assault, intentional infliction of emotional distress and negligence and seeking “damages in excess of $50,000.”
Hall, 35, suffered a fractured leg and had to undergo surgery with “orthopedic reconstruction and hardware implantation,” according to the lawsuit.

The lawsuit alleges that Hill, 29, invited Hall to his house in Broward County after Hall enrolled her 10-year-old son in the “Tyreek Hill Football Camp.” After her son attended the camp, Hill paid for Hall’s travel arrangements to spend several days at his house, according to the lawsuit.

On her first day there, Hill was training on his turf field when he invited Hall to participate in some offensive line drills with him, according to the lawsuit.

Hill asked Hall “to stand in a defensive line stance while he stood opposite her in an offensive lineman stance, ‘hiked’ the ball to the quarterback, and told her to rush him as if she wanted to chase the quarterback,” Hall’s attorneys wrote in the lawsuit.

Upon rushing Hill, Hall — who lists herself as 6-foot-1 on her Instagram page — pushed Hill backward and drew laughs from onlookers, including Hill’s mother, sister, friend and trainer, according to the lawsuit, which alleges Hill became “embarrassed” and “angry.”

Hill called for the two to set up another play, this time with Hall as the offensive lineman. However, a small puppy disrupted the play. On the third play, Hall “held her own,” according to the lawsuit. But on the fourth play, “Hill charged into her violently and with great force, resulting in significant and serious injuries,” the lawsuit alleges.

After the play, Hall alleges that Hill downplayed her injury and secured travel arrangements for her a couple of days later. She was diagnosed with a broken leg shortly after returning home.

Hill, who signed a four-year, $120 million deal with Miami in 2022, has faced legal trouble previously. In 2015, he pleaded guilty to domestic violence charges stemming from a 2014 incident while he attended Oklahoma State University. In 2019, police in Kansas investigated Hill for potential child abuse but did not file charges. In 2023, he reached a settlement with a marina employee after allegations that he hit the employee during a dispute.

Monday April 15th Trump goes on trial for his payments to porn prostitute Stormy Daniels.

Mark this day. An ex-president, a current candidate for the presidency, goes on trial in court for paying hush money to the porn prostitute he bonked. And then paid her off to keep quiet about it. (She's not the only porn prostitute he did this with) I'm sure this is the first in American politics for something as salacious as this. He has tried numerous times to delay this trial, ( gee, wonder why?) looks like now it's finally going to come to fruition. Wonder what Melania thinks about all this? I can't wait to hear the daily court proceedings play by play of all this despicable crap he did.

Wow. I'm glad I received 6 covid vaccines as my Doctors recommended.

Yikes, U of Washington Football

This sure isn't a good look for Washington/Kalen DeBoer. The team was aware that he was being accused of the first rape and let him play anyways after a brief break for some "challenges he had off the field."

University of Washington football player arrested, charged with raping 2 women

SEATTLE (AP) — A University of Washington football player has been arrested and charged with raping two women in Seattle and court documents say he played in two College Football Playoff games for the school after at least one of the allegations was known to the university.
Seattle police officers arrested 18-year-old Tylin “Tybo” Rogers on Friday and booked him into King County Jail, KING-TV reported. He was charged Tuesday with second-degree rape and third-degree rape and his bail was set at $150,000 in each case, according to court documents.
It wasn’t immediately known if Rogers, of Bakersfield, California, has an attorney to comment on his behalf. Jail records show he was released on bond. Efforts to contact him by The Associated Press weren't immediately successful.
Rogers has been suspended from all team activities until further notice, the University of Washington athletic department said in a statement Tuesday. The university will continue to gather facts and cooperate with police, as requested, the statement said.
A Seattle Central Community College student told police she was raped in the city's Capitol Hill neighborhood last year. According to court documents, Rogers and the 19-year-old woman met and started messaging each other after matching on the Tinder dating app in August 2023. Rogers went to her apartment to hang out on Oct. 23 and assaulted her, according to court documents.
Authorities said in court documents that the woman reported the alleged rape to police on Oct. 28, and completed a sexual assault kit at Harborview Medical Center.
A 22-year-old University of Washington student reported that she was raped in November 2023 in the University District, police said.
The woman met Rogers at a Halloween party at the university and then matched with him on Tinder, according to court documents. Police said the two made plans a couple weeks later to hang out and that upon entering her apartment Rogers was immediately forceful and assaulted her. The woman told police at one point Rogers “used one of his hands to strangle her.”
The second woman reported the alleged rape to the university on Nov. 28, police said. Rogers allegedly called her on that date to confront her about the allegations, police said in court documents.
He was also suspended from team activities around late November 2023, according to court documents. The freshman running back did not travel with the team for its victory over the Oregon Ducks in the Pac-12 Championship game on Dec. 1.
At the time, offensive coordinator Ryan Grubb said during a news conference that Rogers was “working through some things, some challenges he’s had off the field,” court documents said. Rogers returned to team practices by mid-December, documents said.
Multiple emails were also sent within the University of Washington athletic department confirming Rogers should be taken off the team’s travel roster for the Pac-12 championship game, but no documentation of reasons for such an action were given, the documents said. He was allowed to appear in the Huskies’ two College Football Playoff games a month later, however.
Rogers recorded five carries for 19 yards in the Huskies’ semifinal win over the Texas Longhorns on Jan. 1. The 18-year-old rushed for two yards in the National Championship Game against the Michigan Wolverines on Jan. 8.
Washington was coached last season by Kalen DeBoer, who left following the national championship game to take the head job at Alabama. Jedd Fisch is now Washington’s head coach.
After practice Tuesday, Fisch told local news media that nothing about Rogers being suspended last year, or the reasons for it, had been brought to his attention.
“I wasn’t here for that,” Fisch said. “As soon as I found out about the allegations, as soon as it was brought to our attention, he’s been suspended indefinitely. I have no comment about what happened in the past. That has nothing to do with me.”

This Day in Aviation, 1945: Gallantry and Heroism Above and Beyond the Call of Duty

Medal of Honor, Staff Sergeant Henry Eugene Erwin, United States Army Air Forces

MEDAL OF HONOR

STAFF SERGEANT HENRY EUGENE ERWIN (Air Mission)

Rank and organization: Staff Sergeant, U.S. Army Air Corps, 52d Bombardment Squadron, 29th Bombardment Group, 20th Air Force.

Place and date: Koriyama, Japan, 12 April 1945.

Entered service at: Bessemer, Ala.

Born: 8 May 1921, Adamsville, Ala.

G.O. No.: 44, 6 June 1945.

Citation: He was the radio operator of a B-29 airplane leading a group formation to attack Koriyama, Japan. He was charged with the additional duty of dropping phosphoresce smoke bombs to aid in assembling the group when the launching point was reached. Upon entering the assembly area, aircraft fire and enemy fighter opposition was encountered. Among the phosphoresce bombs launched by S/Sergeant. Erwin, 1 proved faulty, exploding in the launching chute, and shot back into the interior of the aircraft, striking him in the face. The burning phosphoresce obliterated his nose and completely blinded him. Smoke filled the plane, obscuring the vision of the pilot. S/Sergeant. Erwin realized that the aircraft and crew would be lost if the burning bomb remained in the plane. Without regard for his own safety, he picked it up and feeling his way, instinctively, crawled around the gun turret and headed for the copilot’s window. He found the navigator’s table obstructing his passage. Grasping the burning bomb between his forearm and body, he unleashed the spring lock and raised the table. Struggling through the narrow passage he stumbled forward into the smoke-filled pilot’s compartment. Groping with his burning hands, he located the window and threw the bomb out. Completely aflame, he fell back upon the floor. The smoke cleared, the pilot, at 300 feet, pulled the plane out of its dive. S/Sergeant. Erwin’s gallantry and heroism above and beyond the call of duty saved the lives of his comrades.

Below is a link to the complete story. Basically, this man grabbed a 20 lb., 1300 degree burning phosphoresce smoke bomb and carried it blindly by hand from his compartment in the pressurized plane to the pilot's compartment where he threw it out the co-pilot's window. He suffered through his burns for hours while his plane made its return flight from Japan to an emergency landing on Iwo Jima, but he saved his fellow crew members' lives.

Protect Your Points - The Credit Card Competition Act of 2023

What say you, HROT?

Proposed legislation in the U.S. House and Senate could devastate the future of credit card points including cash back and travel rewards, while putting your financial security at risk.

WHAT'S GOING ON?
Credit card issuers use payment networks like Visa and Mastercard to process charges to your card. Using these robust networks for payments secures your information and charges the merchant an interchange fee.

The Credit Card Competition Act of 2023 would change that. If it becomes law, that same payment could move to a cheaper, less secure network that sacrifices your security. As a result, banks that issue credit cards would have less ability to fund loyalty programs, secure their networks, and innovate their payment technology.

Learn more from The Points Guy Brian Kelly in this video from CNBC:

HOW IT COULD IMPACT YOU
Higher fees + fewer credit card rewards for consumers
A portion of credit card transaction fees goes toward funding reward programs and card perks. If this legislation passes, credit card issuers would likely cut back on benefits they offer to cardholders.

Increased risk for identity theft + security issues
This legislation not only has the potential to impact your points and perks — it could impact your security when shopping. Existing payment networks invest millions of dollars in customer security, so allowing retailers to select newer, cheaper and unproven providers could put your personal information at risk.
