How Did 0boma Put It? "Never Under Estimate jo's Ability to F Things Up?" lol

The SPR is empty with prices surging, war on the horizon and summer driving season upon us?! Now, what, jo? 🤡

We’ve already played vs 5 of the 25 best WBB…

Players In the country per ESPN. 3 of them centers. Honestly there are only a handful of teams left that cause us matchup issues and those teams will have an equally difficult time keeping up with us up & down the floor and our spacing.

We are actually a significantly better rebounding team than a year ago. Our only real issue is we go to sleep on the 2nd chance rebounding from time to time, which is odd because we are the 7th best defensive rebounding team in the nation & 24th rebounding margin.

Our biggest issues for me is the fact that we get a little sloppy in the 3rd quarter in some games and that includes offensively.

I personally wish we’d take it to rack more early on and when we get in those lulls.

Sooners looking to move out of Norman?

Stop the simulation, I want off. How dumb do you have to be to want to move your athletic complex off campus/out of town?

In his Evans Hall office, Harroz told OU Daily that if Norman City Council does not approve the proposed $1 billion entertainment district that would feature a new arena for OU athletics, then the university, alongside donors, would look to other cities to build an arena for which its basketball and women’s gymnastics teams would be anchor tenants and possibly the entertainment district as a whole.

Olympic Spotlight: Jalen Adams Throws No-Hitter

Iowa softball (16-12, 4-2 Big Ten) won the weekend series against Michigan State (13-19, 1-5) last week, taking two of three from the Spartans, including a no-hitter from Hawkeye pitcher Jalen Adams on Friday evening. Adams pitched two complete game shutouts on the weekend, including Friday's no-hitter, allowing opposing batters to hit just .152 over the two games. She was deservedly named Co-B1G Pitcher of the Week.

Elsewhere, Paige Bookin-Nosbisch set a new Iowa record in the women's 800m. Bookin-Nosbisch, who also holds the women's indoor 800m record, now has the 7th fastest time in the NCAA in the event. her teammate Tionna Tobias also had a huge weekend, posting a massive 6.51m long jump, winning the event with the 3rd best mark in the NCAA this season. The jump also ranks 3rd all-time at Iowa.

Trump’s Truth Social lost $58 million in 2023, despite $8 billion valuation

Former president Trump’s social media company made just over $4 million in revenue last year, despite a highflying stock market debut last week that sent the company’s value soaring to more than $8 billion.

Trump Media & Technology Group said in a new Securities and Exchange Commission filing Monday that the company lost more than $58 million last year. Its revenue in the last quarter of the year dipped below $1 million, down from its previous quarter’s earnings of about $1.07 million.

The share price of the company — which uses the stock ticker DJT, for Trump’s initials — plunged 15 percent Monday morning. The drop shaved hundreds of millions of dollars off the company’s market value.

The new financial figures throw into stark relief the gap between Trump Media’s highly hyped investor-driven valuation on the public stock market and the reality of its business performance.

Reddit, the discussion-board service that recently went public and whose shares are trading at lower prices than Trump Media, made more than $800 million in revenue last year.

Trump Media, which makes money exclusively through advertising on Truth Social, has struggled to gain a broad audience. Truth Social’s website peaked this month at 277,000 U.S. visitors Tuesday, the first day of its public trading, according to estimates from the online analytics firm SimilarWeb. On the same day, Reddit saw more than 32 million U.S. visitors.

Trump invested no money in the company and owns about 60 percent of it — a stake worth about $4.6 billion. SEC filings last week said Trump was given 78 million shares of the company and stood to earn millions more over the next three years if the stock stayed above $12 to $17.

Trump can’t sell the shares for six months due to a provision in the company’s merger agreement, known as a lockup, unless the company’s board approves it. Cashing out early, however, could sink the stock price by flooding the market with shares and undermining investor confidence in Trump’s commitment to the brand, financial analysts said.
The board includes Trump’s son Donald Trump Jr.; Robert E. Lighthizer, Trump’s former trade representative; Linda McMahon, his former administrator of the Small Business Administration; and Kash Patel, who served on Trump’s National Security Council.

Trump Media’s chief executive, the former Republican congressman Devin Nunes, was given 115,000 shares, a stake worth about $6.9 million today. He and other board members are bound by the same lockup agreement.

Nunes is paid a $750,000 salary that is subject to increase to $1 million within two years. The company’s two chief financial officers, Phillip Juhan and Andrew Northwall, are each paid about $350,000. Nunes, Juhan and Northwall will also each receive $600,000 “retention bonuses” this month.
Patel was paid $130,000 last year through a consulting agreement. Dan Scavino Jr., Trump’s White House social media director, was also paid $240,000 last year through a consulting agreement that listed him as an independent contractor, the filing shows. He, too, will be given a $600,000 retention bonus.
The filing shows that Digital World Acquisition, the special purpose acquisition company that merged with Trump Media to take it public, paid $18 million to the SEC as part of a settlement last week.

Next Year's Womens Team

I see a lot of discussion about this topic on the recruiting thread so decided to start a new thread. The recruiting thread should be for recruiting news.

I'll start by saying, I think Caitlin will not be back. Kate's her best friend and Gabby also, she'll move on to the WNBA since they are leaving. Plus, she has nothing more to prove.

With Davis also leaving, there will be a big void at the point. I was looking forward to Guyton at the point but she'll be awhile coming back from the knee surgery. Can Johnson provide quality minutes as a sophomore? She's quick but small. Plus can she shoot from the arc. Stremlow and Levin are both listed as PG's, will either be able to start as freshmen?

I don't think Feuerbach or McCabe are PG's. Probably wing guards. McCabes a better shooter, Feuerbach is a better defender.

At small forward I think Affolter starts and Mallegni will play here at 6' 1". She is a great scorer.

Hannah will get a lot of minutes, spelled by either Gyamfi or Ediger.

I think O'Grady and Heinen should play post. Goodman plays with heart but her hands are suspect and she's not a rim runner. I see her minutes going away. Could she be a possible transfer candidate?

I think Affolter will fill Martin's glue role. Hannah's a star next year. McCabe could fill some of Caitlin's scoring. O'Grady will need to get better but has shown promise. No doubt, some of the younger players will need to step up next year.

I've seen several of these comparisons on YT. The answer isn't always the same, even when the same guitars are used, but it's still fun to compare. Especially when they're playing a piece that you know more-or-less how it's "supposed" to sound.
