#1 Ferrari considering Iowa in top 5

Actually the bet was he would never make 57 for his whole career. Gobblin said he would never be at 57!!
No dispute there as I clearly stated in my post. You also said he’d be our starter at 57 this year. Like I said, I’m more than happy to donate the $. I already have and always do anyway. I was just trying max the funds with the wager with you as you seemed happy to take it win or lose. That’s always been my shtick with my wagers here. @GG121AND2 can confirm that… Be a sport and match me and everyone wins….

Ok I just pulled the post up. Originally I did say that then you said redshirt or not he will never be at 57. And we agreed on that bet. He made it you lost. It’s good that you donate I trust you. No issue there. I’ve always donated to both wfl and the hwc. So no issue there. It’s all good my friend.

I certainly do hope that Gobbler makes good dough and is very well to do!!! It does seem like he loses a lot of bets so as long as he has good $$$$ what does he care. Carry on and continue to do good things with your money.

Well I just watched a video of a recent match.

His little victory celebration you can tell the apple doesn’t fall far from the tree.

He’s just like his brother.
Well, technically that would mean he’s just like his father. As I said previously, the apple doesn’t fall far from the other apple, his brother.

Not to pile onto the kid, since I’d like to give everyone the benefit of the doubt, but I’d your high profile, national champ older brother was in the national spotlight for the things he’s in the spotlight for, the only correct path forward for him is to be as humble and un-AJ as possible if he wants people to feel comfortable taking a chance on him.

It might seem like a stupid thing to care about, but his recent “celebration” makes it crystal clear that all of the Ferrari boys continue to receive poor (if any) guidance and make dumb decisions.

I’m skeptical that that can be coached out of any of them.

I would like to see a post of that. I saw him a few years ago at the junior duals and I have said ever since then that he has a few personality quirks that would make me nervous to have him on my team. (that is if I had a team) :)

After he won he was screaming and sticking his tongue out to his opponent’s bench while flexing.

He’s literally his brother 2.0.

Was a terrible look.

Daddy was kneeling down by the mat like you would see in pee wee wrestling.

That's exactly what I thought when he made the throat slash gesture after dominating Joe Sealey. I don't like that business even in MMA and I really don't think that there's any place for it in amateur wrestlng.
He's got trouble written all over him.

The more I dig into it and talk to people who know the okie st program and know the Ferrari’s, it’s looking like a package deal. A lot of people have forgot about Anthony Ferrari, the middle brother. He’s a stud just like AJ and Angelo. Imo these three brothers score you 50+ points for the next 3 years. Angelo and Anthony would have 4 years. This is my hunch, no inside information. The brothers will not commit until AJ’s charges get settled. Whether that be dropped(not guilty) or whatever the circumstances. I’m guessing, just a hunch it comes down to Rutgers and Iowa. The question is if TNT think they can mold these young men into upstanding citizens. I think Anthony would be 157, Angelo 174, and AJ 197. They would fit in quite nice at need weights.

If and a big if this all came to fruition Iowa would be the favorites to win the next 3 NCAA titles, IMO.

Would you sale yourself to the devil for 3 ncaa titles? Would you risk the drama for the reward?

I know that’s what this thread is all about. Not much if any mention about Anthony. He’s a blue chip recruit all the same as his brothers.

I know TNT will do what is best for the program and I support that. Just wanted to mention I do believe it’s a 3 package deal, imo worth 50+ points a year for the next 3 years.

3 NCAA titles or career suicide for the Brands? These 3 idiots can make or break you depending on how they decide to act if they come to Iowa. Just an assault or rape away from burying a storied program. Risky as hell if you ask me.

Interesting take, no one has talked too much about the middle brother. 174 and 197 are pretty big needs. I see Chitum at 157 but maybe he or Anthony could go to 149??? In any case, everyone should get the risk -reward by now and a lot of HW should have been done. I have said, under the right rules, I would take the risk!

If our program is shying away from top recruits based on their victory celebrations, it’s not hard to figure out why we’ve been getting our tails kicked by PSU. Real Woods, ADS and Thomas Gilman all celebrate fairly demonstratively when they win big matches. AJ is accused of a very serious crime, lumping Angelo in with that based on him acting pretty douchey after a big win is pretty short sighted IMHO.

I agree with you - being a douche and being a felon are two vastly different things. It all comes down to if the neanderthal gene can be put away when away from the mat.

There appears to be some serious narcissism running through that family. And it doesn’t shut off when a match is over. I can’t imagine letting that energy into the room, especially under these circumstances. Talk about putting all your eggs in one basket…

Yep - I'm sure Oklahoma St. feels the need to take more of a chance than Iowa. A storied program that is getting buried. It will be a career definer for sure. Heck - the all knowing Penn State fans probably don't even know about them. ;)

OK State didn’t realize the extent of the family issues, maybe. That didn’t seem like a bad pipeline for them when Albert started winning titles. However, it appears that Albert got more insufferable off the mat as his wrestling career blossomed.

Speaking of OK State… They sure seemed to cut their ties with Albert quickly after criminal allegations/accusations were made. I’m curious as to why that was? Compare that to the Iowa school district that was apparently fearful of the kid who admitted guilt and was allowed to participate in wrestling until a stink was made.

Oooooh. Interesting twist. At what cost? Team unity and integrity?
That’s complete speculation. How in the world do we know what the expectations are for the Hawkeyes when they are recruiting Angelo? Who says it’s a package deal? And how in the world could we say that Angelo will be a detriment to team unity and integrity. Huge leaps being taken by a bunch a guys that don’t know the process and steps being taken by Iowa wrestling, let alone the personality or if Angelo would be a detriment.

Give this kid a shot to change your mind before you judge him by the actions of his brother or a victory celebration at the hands of a program that he felt did them wrong.

ADS was a risk when he came here. It looked like he tried breaking Micic’s arm. There were bumps along the way but I believe everyone would say he was beloved by fans and teammates alike. It worked out well.

Pat Downey came here and he was flushed right back out. Trust the staff. They have expectations that must be met. Give Angelo a chance to meet those.

This. I highly doubt AJ is part of package.

Well, the entire thread is speculation at this point. I was a lot happier viewing younger bro as a possibility before hearing about possible packages deal being a prerequisite.

That's the match I was referring to.

Was yelling and chit.

They were raised like this.

Bad look.
I would hope a team like Iowa had so many top kids on their radar that a pick up like this would be icing and not the cake.

Angelo is a huge recruit should Iowa be recruiting him ? Yes . Anthony is an amazing talent who has a misdemeanor battery charge he's getting sorted out. Once that is done should Iowa be recruiting him? Yes. AJ has court in early February. If AJ is found not guilty should Iowa be recruiting him? Yes.

Were we recruiting any of these guys before all hell broke lose or was it a given they were all going to OK St?

I...uh...disagree on AJ. Angelo? Hell yeah.

It really wasn’t quick at all. Accusations and complaints had been piling up for over 6 months. As the investigation continued more complaints piled up.

Could it have been handled in a way to save the relationship between the school and family?

Did the school cut ties with him or the wrestling team?

Depends. Reasonable minds may differ on this. (Below retweeted by AJ)

Don’t want them anywhere near the Iowa room….. That picture tells me all I need to know about the kid

Maybe IF the first thing Tom does is sit down him and his Dad and make it completely clear that behavior isn’t going to fly in the Iowa program

we’re sending kids the wrong messages by allowing that….. hell even in the NFL they have taunting penalties…… a league all about showboating …… that crap is best kept in the idiocy that is WWE

Show your opponent some respect….. show the sport some respect

I hope they wind up at Rutgers ….. perfect place for them….. what was the kids name Ricky Lewis? that ran off the mat his whole match against Marinelli then got a lucky td at end to finally win one and celebrated like that

Not worth it

I would have to guess the majority would disagree with you on AJ.

I could be wrong. Not the first and certainly not the last. LOL
