*** #10 Iowa vs Nebraska WBB Game Thread ***

Gotta make open shots when given them.

Something the men struggle with way more than P6 D1 basketball players should........................

LOL at that butch dike ref.

She sucks.

Just happy to come out of this with a W. Nebraska is better than their record indicates. Their loss to Rutgers is a huge head scratcher, but otherwise I've chalked up some of their early season struggles to various injuries. Despite that, they have wins over Maryland, a ranked Kansas team, and Mississippi St (Net #36). Their poor conference record is deceiving because their schedule was very front loaded. They've now played Maryland twice, plus Michigan, OSU, Indiana (OT road loss), and us.

Every game we win in McKenna's absence is a relief! We really miss her size on defense. When Kate has to slide over guard the 4, that forces Molly to have to guard the 3, which is more often than not a huge mismatch for her. We saw it today with her trying to guard Haiby and versus OSU with her guarding McMahon.
O'Grady got in early. Was it a decision based on matchups?

Was wondering the same thing! All of Stuelke, Ediger, and O'Grady saw minutes at the backup 5 today. I have no evidence to back this up but I'm really wondering if O'Grady got sick or something around Christmas that set back her development for a few weeks.

Why are we in a man defense? Why are we ever in a man defense?

Seriously! We played amazing in quarters 2 and 3 primarily because our zone was helping stop dribble penetration. It felt like we came into the fourth quarter with an attitude of not wanting to let Nebraska shoot themselves back into the game with open looks from the 3 point line. Instead we let them back in the game by allowing them to repeatedly drive to the basket for uncontested layups lmao.

Thanks for noting the challenges coach Williams and the Huskers have faced this year, and congratulations on the victory.

We were something like 2-for-30 from deep against Rutgers. I blame it on having to be in New Jersey.

What is wrong with officiating in today's sports? They just act like zombies blowing the whistle ahead of time regardless of what might happen (i.e., everytime Halbey of Nebraska drove....and charged, whistle!! The last one on Davis was just out right ludricious.....Davis wisely anticipating Halbey going to charge into her...just steps back and never touches her as she goes sprawling....Whistle foul!! Pathetic all around officiating that favored Huskers most of game as they pushed, hand-checked, jumped over backs and pulled on arms.

Iowa for most part played pretty well on defense. The statement previously that they are atrocious man D is just stupid if you watch how hard they are working.

But dumb passes and dumb Clark logo shots kept Nebraska around. Nebraska is a decent team....can't stand them just because of gbr cult of course.
