2024 Recruiting. Orig Post Updated Oct 2nd. 36 Offers So Far (incl. Chris Tadjo & Cooper Koch). 2 Scholarships Available (NOT counting PMac & Tony)

Iowa offered 6'2 PG Daniel Freitag on June 17, 2022. Iowa did not make his final 5.

Bloomington, MN (where he attended high school before transferring to Southern CA Academy) to Williams Arena is a short drive. Goofer Head Coach Ben Johnson said he would keep top local talent from leaving the state. Looks like he's picking Wisconsin, however.

Wisconsin it is.

when you look at it Iowa loses these
SG Perkin
SF Pat
with 2 open schollies to give in the 24 class.

Koch fills the forward that is held by Patrick

now its a fill as needed
who fills Perkins scholly if he leaves preferably a guard/combo.
then open scholly #1 best available player reguardless of position?
then Kikke's scholly a big would be a positive

really have no idea of who, players are starting to commit so my personal wants have dropped off because these commit's.

open to suggestion.

looking at it Fran will need a guard and a big.
Guard 6'4 Nate Guerengombo or 6'6 Pharaoh Compton
good replacement for Perkins.
F/C 6'10 Patrick Ngongba or 6'10 Garrett Sundra
either of these 2 would be a good replacement for Krikke.

already have Koch to replace Patrick.

Compton isn't a guard--he's more of a forward that ideally would be used in a small-ball center lineup. His Twitter lists himself at 6'8

Don't know if this has been talked about in another thread and I missed it, but Koch is currently in Europe as one of the 20 U.S. players selected to participate in Adidas' Eurocamp. Koch was also selected to be on the "Select" team at the camp.

This is post 173. Scroll up to post #168, where it mentions only 20 players are selected. When you click on "click to expand," and then click on the the 2 "view embedded media" links, you can watch a cool video where Cooper is officially invited. In post #168 you will also see the the tweet from June 5 on this subject.

That May 3 official invite video:

My guess is Iowa eventually offers Cade Wilkins. Kid from Quad Cities. Might tave gotten his last name wrong.
Yeah, he seems like one of those tweeners who, if we don’t offer, will go to UNI or Drake and have a stellar career.

He's trying to say Iowa has a lot of white kids on its roster.
so he is a bigot.

he really has a problem of recruiting a top 100 4* white player? how he must hated Wieskamp who now is in the NBA.

OH lets not forget these
Waite and Krafcism
Bobby Hansen
Chris Street
Bowen
Bullard
Huluska
White
Uthoff
JBO oops silly me
Gesell
Woodbury
Garza
Nunge
there are more but that is a pretty good sample size. of how the white players that played for IA coaches. to stop this bull shit complaint

Ummmm, probably would have been better off doing the
Lester
Brookins
Mayfield........

route. Put that list together to support your position.

Iowa offered 6'4 SG Nate Guerengomba on June 22, 2022.

Fran watched Guerengomba, Patrick Ngongba, Garrett Sundra, and Donnie Freeman (all with Iowa offers; their AAU team is Team Takeover) on April 22, 2023. Freeman, of course, committed to Syracuse last month.

On April 8, 2023 it was reported that "Iowa, Maryland & Va Tech remain in a good spot w/ the DMV native."

And yesterday, June 12:

Not a ton of video that I've been able to find on him. Listed as a 6'7 wing. This would be his first official visit, but he's taken unofficials to Xavier, Va Tech and some Atlantic 10 schools.
Appears to have a very nice mid-range game, which isn't that common nowadays. Maybe he could be big off guard, which Iowa will need when Perkins leaves. Not enough in the video to really assess his quickness or outside shot. I haven't forgotten Dix, who I really like, but you need depth and options.

you have forgot about the Sanfort boy's who are both still listed at 6'7 who can play the 2-3-4,

looks like the 2 spot can be manned by 6'5 Dix, 6'7 Sanfort and 6'7 Sanfort. they will replace 6'4 Perkins.

plus Fran is still recruiting somebody to play the 2. not to mention he still has these
6'3 Nimmers 2-4 mpg
6'4 Lakata 2-4 mpg
6'5 Kingsbury 2-4 mpg
that give Fran 6-12 mpg of relief pg at his disposal.

to give spot minutes of relief.
