I was born at the start of the 2nd to last year of the Boomer generation (1963). Never felt entirely like a Boomer although I continue to reap generational benefits. I feel I'm as much a GenXer.

So yeah, tough love, free love, love in the time of AIDS, I get them all. But now I just love the younger generations with their therapeutic mindset, adulting is hard, and boundary setting. Love them to death.

They seem less aggressive-aggressive or passive-aggressive, and more positive-assertive than past generations. Yolo, so live your best life and an authentic one. Gotta love it!!!

you have to be one of the smartest people in Pennsylvania……. you ever move the average intelligence of that state will plummet

Then being a Boomer would mean you have lived a triggered life. When you were young You’d go fight and the next day there was mutual respect for each other.

If you tell someone to stop, and they don’t, smack em.

You disrespect your Mother you get backhanded. It’s called healthy fear.
disrespect your mother? that's the big difference between the generations i for one would never and have never disrespected either of my parents

I just bought a truck yesterday. Going through the typical briefing with my salesman, we were signing into the app. One of the options on initial login which was already automatically ✔️ was the ability to give all your driving/vehicle data (to include speed etc) to third parties. This includes insurance companies and whoever the hell else. We unchecked it of course.

In fact, most cell phones can pick up your private conversation. For example, I picked my wife (no pics) up from work and she was talking about having to get her CPR recert. This got us into a convo about it for a few minutes. Lo and behold, I started getting advertisement about online CPR classes and first aid kits. Once you start noticing it, you find out that this happens a lot.

Outside of the law, who gets to decide what's right or wrong. For my friends on the right or left, just remember that system pendulums tend to swing both ways in time and this type of power can (and has) been adopted and used against either group. The "just don't do anything wrong" argument resides on a very slippery slope imo.

nobody reads the fine print when you activate a new phone but somewhere does it say that your calls may be listened to? I think you are right and that they probably are, which is kinda scary when you think about it....

Names of the football players have been released.

Would think we'll get the bad news on the wrestlers relatively soon.

Grab your shorts.

Noah Shannon is part of what follows too, of course (but he has not been criminally charged).

Noah Shannon & WR Jack Johnson are the only football players connected to this investigation who are still on the Iowa football team

I won't pretend to have combed through all of these charging documents and the like but I do hope that the prosecutors not only focus, but limit, their efforts to those situations involving gambling that present the highest risks to the integrity of competitions. Underage gambling - don't care that much, really should probably be a civil remedy. Gambling on stuff completely unrelated - sure, if you've got a problem like phil mickelson, there's risk of becoming beholden, but probably remote at age 18, particularly in sports with limited betting markets. Your school's teams? maybe a little more concern. Your team? Absolutely. Even if to win given spreads, etc.

None of this stuff matters to me as it has no effect on eligibility.

There was the kicker too last week...unless you are not counting him as on the team still (he was until last week).

What makes you think they are releasing the names by sport...? A baseball player was announced last week, as was Ahron Ulis (basketball) named last week...plus the ISU wrestler (Johnson) was announced last week too.

It might be that this is all the criminal charges...I don't think the DCI is doing the releasing by sport necessarily...

It could be that the wrestling team is just impacted by the NCAA violations...???

These names are coming out only because there are actual court filings right now. We also know about Noah Shannon because he told us he was a part of the investigation & the 4 baseball players who had to sit out at the end of their season (but only one - so far - has court filings).

Isn't it logical to think we'll get more info shortly?
The pace has picked up recently and I seriously doubt the DCI doesn't want to finish this investigation soon.
Rumors of those involved have been circulating for awhile now.
Seems reasonable to expect more names released soon.

I think the releases have only been by who broke the law by using a proxy or being underage. The NCAA will have its say but I wouldn’t expect to know those until their investigation is done and/or guys just aren’t in the lineup.

With the transfers, Iowa should be able to put a decent team on the mat. Where it might leave a mark is at 141 and Hwy.

So, now it makes sense why GS was so demure while breaking the news of there being no news on him transferring to Iowa. He didn’t want to let the cat out of the bag, as far as NEED of hwt goes until it’s ruled on by NCAA.

The reel commitment should be forthcoming…

Yeah, I was assuming Aaron Blom is done. They brought in a walk on punter to replace him (he was the backup punter). Now we have to hope that our starting field goal kicker doesn't get injured

Lol. Just saying…

That story checks out from everything I've heard.
All you have to do is piece together some of the info released earlier.
26 mentioned as associated with Iowa and knowing the names in the other sports...the percentage of wrestlers involved will be significant.
Hopefully it's not a season long suspension or complete loss of eligibility.

My hope is that several involved have already used up their eligibility.

Right? It’s a moo point if they’re already out of college.

so you guys are counting names and subtracting from 26, ace detectives. i will bet you are wrong.
I have no idea what will come of this, but if you are basing the 11 wrestlers involved based on the original 26 number put out there, I would not waste much time on that. It is what it is. Hopefully a couple duals penalties for those involved and lesson learned is what I'm hoping for.

For the most part I think that’s what is going to happen with at least one exception possibly two.

On the bright side of this impending storm cloud the likely penalties have already been laid out in a way. So, coaches and athletes know what’s coming and alternative actions have been planned

This showed up on Nittany Nation this am.
Post in thread 'Paniro named in ISU gambling probe' https://pennstate.forums.rivals.com/threads/paniro-named-in-isu-gambling-probe.338825/post-6451837
Willie on TFW this morning stated that the Iowa names that keep coming up as being implicated are PK, Nelson, Assad and Cass. He is clear that he is not guessing/assuming these names but from all his sources these 4 names keep coming up as being implicated. He is not stating they are guilty, just saying that these are the names that keep coming up.
