Another ridiculous decision

Our governor is so ridiculously ignorant. Passing up free federal money that goes straight into our local economy, and then trying to tie SNAP benefits for kids to obesity. It actually has the opposite effect. EBT helps low income people have money to buy healthy food, that is typically more expensive.
Makes you happy, right?

Kimmie helps you libs spread more hate.

Have a Hateful New Year!

I like things like IPERS, public schools, law enforcement, the judicial system, safe roads, clean water, the State Auditor, the Department of Health and Human Services child welfare staff to name a few. They are all underfunded right now and tax cuts will do nothing to improve that.

I think a good hard look to see where we can cut the fat is always a healthy exercise.

Maybe you should suggest such a step to Kimmie. She's not giving much of anything a good hard look so far. Push stuff through as fast as possible before voters and legislators figure out the down side and stop her.

Imagine that from Raygun.

She'll be governor for as long as she likes.

Like I said,

“House and Senate Republicans refused to fully vet this bill or exercise any oversight on the governor’s office. Now it’s law, and Iowans will be living with the consequences for decades to come.”

It’s a quote from your article, you ****ing moron. Surely a well read intellect like yourself actually read the article before you posted it.

Oh birch...

You're claiming the same thing as the state Democrat senator you quoted.

In post 290 you said: "She's not giving much of anything a good hard look so far. Push stuff through as fast as possible before voters and legislators figure out the down side and stop her."

But I'm asking you birch, not the senator. And I'll ask you again. What makes you think they didn't vet the bill?

Providing a quote from a Dem state senator isn't answering the question.

You would know about not answering the question.

It's the answer you are going to get. I don't care if it satisfies you or not.

Gotta get 'em hooked on government handouts when they're young, amirite, libs?
Considering that self described conservatives/Republicans are the biggest takers of handouts, I guess I’m not following your logic whatsoever.

$40 a month to help slightly ease a needy kids hunger and food insecurity seems like a pitiful amount to me. The fact that there are multitudes of hungry kids in this country is shameful and disgusting.

Makes you wonder why your side is all in with the U.S. taking in millions of people from other countries when the country can't even address its own.

There is some real poverty and homelessness in rural Iowa. Go down in the area south of Chelsea, in Tama County in the Iowa River Basin area.

If mom and dad give up the cigs and pot they would be able to buy steak for every meal at home.

The world needs more empathy. I think it is the best trait any human can have.

It doesn't even have to be empathy. I've never went hungry in my life, so I can't really be empathetic for someone who has. I'm just a decent f'ing person who understands that sometimes people need some help and it's OK that those that can help, do.

However, with that stated above, I wouldn't piss on @NorthernHawkeye if he was on fire.

Fortunately the schools offer free breakfast and free lunch and send home free bags of food for weekends and breaks (many of which are found in lockers and trash cans and left in classrooms). Lunches are provided all summer. For some reason the schools are now responsible for feeding kids around the year. Oh for the days when parents did that. Crazy expecting the government to fund everything, but typical of many people.

You guys are propagandists.

Plenty of programs exist to address this issue.

It's never enough. There could be 100 programs like this one, but that doesn't matter.
