Well to be fair she is all dolled up, probably drives a vehicle less then a year old, nails done and expensive tattoos on her arm... but, 40 dollars a month is gonna help her 4 children not starve. Give me a break, honest hard working people are tired of people like her scooping up every government handout they can get, when they can do better. Where is the shame in this country anymore? Actually going on the news and crying about 40$ being taken away... they didn't take all of it. Hey lady go do uber for 3 hours in that new car you somehow afford and bam 40$ to feed your family!

it's entirely possible that she is employed full time driving a car she prays makes it from one place to another while spending most of her income on child care so she can work so assholes like you don't think she's a freeloading loser and $40 a month for each of her kids would have been a lot of breathing room in her budget. She might even be able to set aside a little money in an emergency fund for when her car breaks down. Of course, that's not the assumption you make about her. That says a lot more about you than it does about her.

You would be surprised at the actual people on assistance. They aren’t the people you would think. You are making quite a few guesses.
Has anyone done the math on this? It doesn’t add up. $28M for $120/person for the summer is ~230K kids. There are only ~720K kids in Iowa under 18 (including infants). There is no way 1 in 3 kids are “needing” this. It makes no sense.

12% of Iowa kids are officially in poverty. Throw in the others who aren't but close, or may be struggling, and I could absolutely buy that 30% are in need.
That doesn't address her child care or medical insurance. Or demonstrate that she sucks. It's just one stereotype after another with you. Anything to make someone easier to sneer down upon and judge, right?

There are plenty of people that need help and are basically trapped in a bad situation and it would take a minor miracle to get out of it. I don’t care what what you say about inflation, the damage has been done. Groceries prices are not coming back down.

I dont disagree with the general sentiment of their statement about federalism, but in this case its not a bridge to die on IMO.

Kim passing up the money does nothing to help this. It is already allocated money. It is absolutely foolish to not take the money to help families and for pure stimulus in our state. I am pretty confident TB would have been smart enough to take it.
