Ben Kueter

Well, you are pretty much dead to me here. Just take the loss. When you argue with someone, proven wrong and ultimately enlightened, the general response is to say thank you. Since I have provided enough examples of how the word "grief can be used, not "grieve", Google too can be your friend.

Unless of course you are trying to unseat MSU for being the most argumentative.

I’m glad someone finally stepped in and said it!!

As an English teacher, I can’t take this any longer. There were no grammatical errors in @el dub original post that you felt the need to chime in & correct

Stupid thing to do on a message board even if there WAS an error, but I’m just saying, he’s not the one who needs to “just take the loss”

I’m sorry to give you so much grief, and I will certainly grieve for you and the embarrassment this post may have caused, but it was really driving me nuts

Thanks for proving my point and it was him who corrected mine initially.

Since you are a so called English teacher - then read better.

Boy…Ben Kueter….pretty solid freshman campaign since committing to wrestling. Put on some solid weight to give the big boys a run. Should have a decent path to AA on the front or back with a top 8 seed. Could end up 4th with a solid tournament…This is a Ben Kueter thread right?

Maybe griefing? Lol. Just being a smart ass. Let's talk politics and religion next ;). That reminds me. What ever happened to "is there vodka in heaven"? Good poster years ago, but dam, the last few years he kind of went down a rabbit hole. Bit off subject, but I've not seen a post from him for quite some time now.

He got scorched earth banned during Covid.

Good Grief man! We are talking about Grammar! on the internet! No time for BK

Noted, but that doesn’t change the fact that your little grammar lesson was totally wrong
So you think the word "grief" can only be used to define sorry or heartbreak? You have never heard of the informal use of grief such as "he gave me grief about my use of the word grief?" Since you are the professional English teacher, tell me again how this is wrong? Or maybe once again you didn't read the entire chain correctly? The original post that El Dub criticized used it in this manner, not in the feel sorrow and pain for f'n David Taylor mode. Good Grief!

  1. informal
criticize or make trouble for someone.
"he gave me grief about typos"

Seriously? I never criticized anyone’s grammar, as far as I recall.

Grief - not grieve.

tOSU doesn't get nearly enough grief for their lack of development.
Why would we grieve an opponent’s lack of success?

To grieve is the verb. Grief is a noun (El Dub)

And as I told you several times, it was not used that way with the initial post, but in the informal context, which is again, to annoy and irritate. I very simply pointed out that the initial use of the word grief was OK and it went from there.

So, you started the grammar policing, right?

Do we want BK in the 6th seed now that Hendrickson may have injured his right hand? Assume Wyatt is 3rd.
I think Hendrickson is the 3 Schultz is the 4 where they go from there is anybody’s guess. Hoping for the 5 but likely going to be 6-9.

Schultz has taken losses to multiple people no way he’s ahead of Kirk or Trephan

So who is the 5' 8" 220 lb training partner you were referring to?

The point was that he's awfully small for a heavyweight, especially these days. It was an exaggeration for effect, intentionally so. Not sure I exaggerated much on his weight based on when I saw him recently.

If you don't think he's short in stature and weight vs. the best heavies in college, I don't know what to tell you.

Nice redirect but yeah, calling him 5'8" is pretty odd. He's not close to that height and certainly not short by heavyweight standards.
He's as tall or taller than Gable and Snyder so your final point is a swing and a miss.

Tony is maybe 5’11”. Gable has him by a few inches. Snyder is similar height but he’s also Kyle Snyder. Now do literally 75% of all other heavies. And regardless Tony is just plain small compared to heavyweights. If you think differently you clearly haven’t seen him lately.

The point is and has been that Ben is never going to be one of the biggest guys and this is best served by full sized heavyweight practice partners, not guys smaller/lighter than he is.

If he gets one more year like the last as far as size goes I don’t think anybody bullies him. That would put him in the 250’s.

So you are saying that ne needs a partner the size of a guy like....Bobby Telford...
