I didn’t think ‘gritty’ was applicable to a team like ISU. Thought gritty went more with ‘scrappy’, ‘heady’ etc
With as much athleticism as ISU has, they would be a Final Four team if they actually had grit. As it is, they are a bunch of individuals playing street ball under the tutelage of a punk that looks like he sleeps in a coffin. RP's career came about 70 years late-he might have been a successful lackey under Goebels.
The Register obviously saved the top of the page for the story of the ISU victory.

She’s probably in the majority too. It’s the message board Clone fans who are unbearable, just like many message board Hawkeye fans are too.
What they are best at in the nation is self-promoting themselves as the ‘best’ at whatever. It works for them because they won’t call themselves out. They are self-hyperbole warriors.
Iowa fans for better or for worse are much more real. There’s no fake praise or accolades going on.
