Covid likely came from a lab per report.

"the weight of the evidence increasingly supports the lab leak hypothesis. Since the Select Subcommittee commenced its work in February 2023, more and more senior intelligence officials, politicians, science editors, and scientists increasingly have endorsed the hypothesis that COVID-191 emerged as the result of a laboratory or research related accident"

I have to say, setting aside completely whether that conclusion is 'right' or 'wrong,' there is a strange irony to the fact that "reports" of congressional committees rank high on the list of the least objective creatures in the world of publications, yet for legal purposes, they are the ones that courts provide the most deference to.

maybe the hyper-textualists are on to something with their view that legislative history should be ignored when construing statutes.

Sounds like the Un-select committee if you ask me. Just a bunch of trumpers on a witch hunt.

120 billion acres of land on the planet and the virus happens to come from a wet market in the same town as a lab doing that kind of research.
Speaking of only The Obvious…Just about every major city in China has a lab or labs researching coronaviruses. Why? Because they’ve had coronavirus emerge from wet markets in the past.

“Most lab leak proponents don't mention that most major Chinese cities have one or more active coronavirus laboratories. The Chinese government established these laboratories after multiple spillovers of the first SARS-CoV in 2002 through 2004.”

I know where it actually came from...

Did you know that gain of function coronavirus research was being performed in a bsl 2 lab instead of a bsl 3 or 4 lab? Bsl2 is about the level of a dentists office. Gloves, masks, and maybe goggles.

Per Chinese rules, since these coronavirus' had not yet been known to jump from bats to humans, they were considered low risk and could be researched in a bsl2 lab. Despite the fact that they were actually doing gain of function research and trying to add the ability to jump from bats to humans.

Ralph baric was doing similar research in the usa and his was always performed in a bsl 3 or higher lab. it's scary what China was doing.

It just so happens that the author of your article is a co-founder of a biotechnology company that treats covid. Talk about major conflict of interest.

"R.F.G. is co-founder of Zalgen labs, a biotechnology company developing countermeasures to emerging viruses, including SARS-CoV-2"

Not one word of that is relevant in any way to what I posted.

WOW!!! REALLY??? A "biotechnology company developing countermeasures to emerging viruses"??? 😲How weird they would also include coronaviruses in that research??? 😲What a f'n coincidence, amirite??? 😮😧😮

Do you understand this is as relevant as there being a lab in Wuhan researching coronaviruses? Can you name a single biotech company doing research on emerging viruses that WOULDN'T include coronaviruses?? And why would Robert Garry give a single fvck where covid came from if all he's interested in is developing treatments for it? It doesn't change anything he's doing either way. Do you guys stop and think for a single second before you post your stupidity?

Hard to believe Trump let China get away with this (both the virus and the lies) on his watch. Sad.

There is a big controversy among scientists/others whether gain of function is a net positive.

On one hand, you do gain of function research and this allows cutting edge research on vaccines and treatments for viruses that have not emerged.

On the other hand, while doing gain of function research, you may develop a virus that would have never occurred in nature. In the case of covid, this virus escaped the lab and killed millions.

I am guessing the author benefitted from covid. therefore he has a major financial incentive to want gain of function research to continue. it is his cash cow.

Did you believe Phillip Morris when they said smoking was safe? Do you think big pharma is trying to make people healthy?

If you can't see the conflict of interest here, then you probably wouldn't understand this report either.

Are you ACTUALLY claiming Garry would support the development and release of an engineered virus so he could profit from developing a treatment? You're kinda fvcking insane. You've watched FAR too many James Bond movies.

Trump actually believed Fauci was on his side and would help Trump be a hero. Trump was a major chump, and Fauci willingly let Trump look bad while becoming a hero to the sheeple.
Trump let Trump look bad. I dont think Fauci told Trump to take the microphone and suggest bleach and/or internal lasers for covid remedies and/or suggest covid would just disappear by Easter?

I've never understood the MAGA obsession to create proof that Covid came from a lab. Even if it did, Trump still pissed the response down his leg. What is the MAGA explanation for his incompetent efforts to fight the virus. And, if it came from a Chinese lab, why was Trump such a pussy about responding?

Ecohealth stated in its grant application their intent to create a Sars like virus with a furin cleavage site, which is the exact same feature that made humans susceptible to covid 19 infection.
I'm susceptible to cleavage

That question/idea is stupider every time I see it.

Of course big pharma is trying to make people healthy. Whole lot of money to be made on keeping people alive…dead people stop picking up their scripts and are not a very profitable demographic.

The cognitive dissonance of those denying this possibility is truly astounding. Who do you think you're defending? China? Fauci? Or is it as simple as Trump might believe it so you can't allow yourself to? Crazy.

Breaking news! New speculation and conjecture on the origins of the fake covid virus!
