Thought I read somewhere the NCAA chair is UNC's AD and he gets a payday if UNC makes the tournament.

WV turned down the offers. AD cited a desire to focus on preparations for next year.Did WV turn down an offer or were just not selected?
I have seen nothing.
His resume is damn impressive.I want McCollum
Devries could say F it if Iowa hesitated and takes whatever WV throws his way to keep him.Where is Devries going if not to Iowa? We hold the cards, not Devries.
I hope Beth doesn’t panic as quick as people on here. If McCollum is her man then she already has a deal and just waits to announce it. But I think Devries is her choice.
Seen that they turned down offers to Crown and NIT.WV turned down the offers. AD cited a desire to focus on preparations for next year.
This is a good point. In fact, I'm sure DD is under some pressure at WV to piss or get off the pot. If he's leaving, I would guess that WV would be eager to get rolling on their search to replace him.Devries could say F it if Iowa hesitated and takes whatever WV throws his way to keep him.
Lot of ifs in this situation but waiting around in todays environment seems like a good way to end up with option D whoever that is…
We’re gonna find out soon enough
Crazy we’re in this timeline but with transfer portal opening up and NIL…here we are. This is a good point. In fact, I'm sure DD is under some pressure at WV to piss or get off the pot. If he's leaving, I would guess that WV would be eager to get rolling on their search to replace him.

Some good info regarding NIL starting just after the 36:10 mark from SD. Iowa revenue share will be larger than WV as a base.

This is a great listen for anyone who wants deeper insights into the issues surrounding Fran's exit and the ongoing effort to replace him.
I understand that but it’s also been noted multiple times, he adjusts to his personnel. This year, his personnel was clearly outmatched athletes-wise so the solution is to slow down the game.Leistikow and Dochterman talked about McCollum's team playing with one of the slowest paces in college basketball. Leistikow didn't seem too enthused about that coming to Iowa. We don't want Lickliter ball again.
They showed a stat during the MVC tournament that Drake led the nation with 290(?) FGs in the last 4 seconds of the shot clock. The next closest was 215. It's like a mini heart attack every time they have the ball.Leistikow and Dochterman talked about McCollum's team playing with one of the slowest paces in college basketball. IT'S HAPPENING RIGHT NOW!!!
This dude will be infinitely better than Brock ****ing harding

don’t know, don’t care 🤣is he more point guard or shooting guard?
FWIW, 4 star guard Kelvin Odih, a 2025 West Virginia commit, has ties to the Hawkeyes, having received an offer in 2023. He'd be a nice get for us if he could be flipped.

Iowa Hawkeyes offer Rhode Island MaxPreps Player of the Year
The Iowa Hawkeyes identified another one of their top targets in the 2025 class. The Hawkeye coaching staff widened its recruiting net all the way to New England for this latest offer. Iowa extended an offer to rising 2025 shooting guard Kelvin Odih. A member of…hawkeyeswire.usatoday.com
Seems as though the football hire turned out just fineI think Drake making the tourney and WVU not actually works against BM in this scenario. Iowa/Beth wants to move quickly and if you slow play DD, you risk him getting pi$$ed and pulling a Stoops.
If both had made the tourney, I think it'd have been more of a 50/50 between the 2, but with WVU out, I think it's probably 80/20, if not 90/10, in favor of DD.
The plane from Morgantown to Aurora flew from ARR to Morgantown on March 11. Later, on the 11th, it flew from Morgantown to Kansas City, where the Big 12 Tournament was held (WV's first game was on March 12). On March 16, it flew from KC to Morgantown. It then flew back to Aurora yesterday and flew to Miami this morning. It is a very active private jet owned by the Chicago Jet Group.
Sounds like this thing may have been set up for a while and then wvu getting screwed out of the tourney just worked out perfectly for Iowa.so, not making a run at McCollum? Or is he Indiana bound?
They'll beat MissouriDrake could be done as early as Thursday evening.
If Tucker enters the portal that could really b a sign
I agree. McCollum is probably the better coach but possibly not the better recruiter and there's no guarante we would get him with Indiana, Virginia and possibly Villanova involved. The concern I have with DeVries, is his teams seem to wither at times. Twice Drake has blown late leads in the ncaa tournament (one of which was an epic choke job where his players flat-out panicked), and this year WVA faded, going 6-9 down the stretch.
You don’t see a McCollum team panic.
Oh well thanks for clearing that up, Nostradamus. They'll beat Missouri
The counter to Devil’s Advocate would be, they went 9-23, and 4-14 in conference last year. 19-13 and 10-10 with DeVries in one year. Pretty impressive turn around.Playing Devil's Advocate here........Why do we want a coach that didn't make the tournament?
Don't throw darts at me I'm just having fun. DD would be a great get as well as BM.
It’s a good start.
Minnesota, Indiana, and there will be other vacancies. But yeah, Iowa tops the list for sure.Where is Devries going if not to Iowa? We hold the cards, not Devries.
