Could not believe the poor coaching the last 4 minutes. He was counting on his veterans (Penn, devries) but they were broke. Maybe call a timeout sooner and set up a play, or a press breaker.

Brodie, Calhoun and Enright played great, but weren't even looked at for crunch time.

This was tough to take.

Terrible matchup for him. Can’t bully the big athletic defenders like he does in the Valley. And the inbounds passes were horrible.

But that comes back to coaching. Just a tough pill to swallow as a Drake fan.

I'd still take him.... Might be better for Iowa that Drake lost. DeVries won't be quite the hot coaching prospect as he would be if Drake went on a run.

You know Iowa is MULTIPLE years away from getting off their a$$es to make any changes

The only chance Fran is gone is he finds another job that will pay him more than the 15 million or so that Iowa has already guaranteed. I don't think anyone would shell out that type of money for a 63 year old coach that has zero sweet16's in his career. Notre Dame didn't seem interested despite Fran's connection to the school.

3 Iowa-based teams all placed in the Midwest Region, where they can potentially play in Kansas City after a couple games.

Des Moines was a pod locations, but none of the 3 did enough overall to be placed there. (well, Drake possibly did, but can't play true home games in the first 2 rounds)


0-3 overall record between the trio.

Devries to Wichita State okay then when Iowa finally gets tired of McCaffery they can hire Devries. Iowa has hired a great coach from Wichita before and Iowa excelled under him.
