Sounds like you’re probably a catholic school wannabe.LOL - It was never about the amount of money a school charges it was always about the quality of education. Iowa Public Schools suck, the environment sucks, the curriculum sucks, the administration sucks and the teachers suck.
Anymore questions?
So you have an issue with the earnings of private school/church administration?Depends on the size of the school district however it should never be over 150K

Iowa Public Schools are nothing but a money tree for Administrators. If the general public knew the benefits and salaries these crooks make they would throw up.So you have an issue with the earnings of private school/church administration?
LOL - such a stupid hypocrite.
What's so funny? You liberal jerks only point out the tuition at a couple of the most expensive schools in the state and try to sell it as the norm which it isn't.Hilarious. Can't make this shit up.
You. Like I said, can't make this shit up.What's so funny? You liberal jerks only point out the tuition at a couple of the most expensive schools in the state and try to sell it as the norm which it isn't.
Why would they hire 1 teacher for just 1 special needs student? You know those come in all shapes and sizes right?Hire a teacher for 1 student? No wonder public schools are such a money pit.
Sometimes, sometimes not. In Iowa of late, it's rarely been enough recently to keep with the rising costs.Does the public school system get funded increases yearly?
Asking for a friend.
So, the answer is YES.Why would they hire 1 teacher for just 1 special needs student? You know those come in all shapes and sizes right?

Holy shit. Those guys are severely underpaid. Thank you for pointing that out.Check out some of the salary and benefit pacakages for past and current public school superintendents in Iowa. Some exceeding $300,000 annually and that doesn't include some really nice benefits.

Not a teacher, but a 1:1 para - yes.Hire a teacher for 1 student? No wonder public schools are such a money pit.
Good for you just keep them at public schoolsNot a teacher, but a 1:1 para - yes.
You really don't know how IEPs work? Lol.
The fact that you had to ask that is incredibly embarrassing.Good for you just keep them at public schools
The fact that you begrudge parents the right to choose disgusts me.The fact that you had to ask that is incredibly embarrassing.
Please, keep lecturing us on education.
Please provide one post where anyone begrudges parents that? They've ALWAYS had that choice. The fact that you begrudge parents the right to choose disgusts me.
There is no such thing as parent choice when private schools can still refuse kids. The fact that you begrudge parents the right to choose disgusts me.
It's 2024 taxpayer funded school choice is a parent's right, and you begrudge them the opportunity to choose a better education for their childrenPlease provide one post where anyone begrudges parents that? They've ALWAYS had that choice.
Find one post where I said that. It's 2024 taxpayer funded school choice is a parent's right, and you begrudge them the opportunity to choose a better education for their children
You and Boji can cry all you want but vouchers are here to stay, the broken Iowa public school system needs to focus on education vs indoctrination. Get back to educating students not just pushing them out the door and saying good luck.Find one post where I said that.
Especially since I've said many times I myself attended private school.
Yes, I would definitely count on the religious institutions to avoid indoctrination. 😂You and Boji can cry all you want but vouchers are here to stay, the broken Iowa public school system needs to focus on education vs indoctrination. Get back to educating students not just pushing them out the door and saying good luck.
Again, it's not the vouchers themselves we object to.You and Boji can cry all you want but vouchers are here to stay, the broken Iowa public school system needs to focus on education vs indoctrination. Get back to educating students not just pushing them out the door and saying good luck.
Yes, I would definitely count on the religious institutions to avoid indoctrination. 😂
Whoa oh! Conservative humor strikes again. Hahahaha, good shit dude!Boji when you mention school vouchers.
Actually I have a couple of follow-up questions -LOL - It was never about the amount of money a school charges it was always about the quality of education. Iowa Public Schools suck, the environment sucks, the curriculum sucks, the administration sucks and the teachers suck.
Anymore questions?
4. How does taking money out of public schools help improve them? He’s mentioned how those schools have to get better…well, for each student that opts out they lose funding.Actually I have a couple of follow-up questions -
1. The thread is about vouchers. I asked if the vouchers were helping kids, making private school more affordable. Since private schools raised their tuition it doesn't seem like it's any more affordable.
2. You mentioned that private schools spend a nickel for every dollar spent by public schools. I asked for support for that assertion and wondered how they did that.
To those questions you responded with "Iowa public schools suck".
3. In this post you said, "It was never about the amount of money a school charges .....". What is "it"? The voucher program? The vouchers are only about money.
Let me guess - Iowa Public schools suck.
Funding doesn't make teachers better or worse. There is plenty of funding.4. How does taking money out of public schools help improve them? He’s mentioned how those schools have to get better…well, for each student that opts out they lose funding.
Yes…so much funding that teachers regularly have to provide much of their own materials for class.Funding doesn't make teachers better or worse. There is plenty of funding.

This is a giant pile of crap that I feel sorry for you. It's time for teachers to truly wake up and engage in healthy self reflection. The teachers have the ability to change the entire landscape. Figure out how to actually police your own on merit and develop the schools into what you want them to become. Parents are not the problem and in your heart you know that. You also know the administration of schools has grown to levels that are not healthy. Regulations but zero empowerment. Collective bargaining that negotiates for the least amongst you. Problem children that need actual help and guidance as well as discipline and no real ability to deliver. Teachers can take back their profession with vouchers or they can continue down the same pathway. Start a school and enroll 30 students. Take whichever students you want. Grow your business and educate. Seems like you could do quite well.
Or work to change to model in public education.
You whine about not getting respect as professionals. This is what life is like outside education. This is why the people whose kids you think you own have zero sympathy for your situation and why your arguments against vouchers are not working. You remember parents right? The ones actually responsible for their children. Not you and your snarky we know better because we teach. Parents are the ones teachers blame for their own mediocrity and inability to actually take charge of their profession.
No more so than most of your complaints. This is overplayed.
No it really isn't a pile of crap. It is reality. Alcoholics are really just incapable of taking responsibility for themselves. Keep going to meetings. This is a giant pile of crap that I feel sorry for you.
You are so very close. Now bridge over the why that would happen. A class of 30 kids at 8k per kid is 240k.Yes…so much funding that teachers regularly have to provide much of their own materials for class.
You just can’t make this up.Yes, I would definitely count on the religious institutions to avoid indoctrination. 😂
You really suggested starting your own schools? Unbelievable. It's time for teachers to truly wake up and engage in healthy self reflection. Yes. Opportunity awaits. Guaranteed cash flow if you can attract customers. Are you not convinced teachers can make it in the marketplace? I mean dentists can do it....You really suggested starting your own schools? Unbelievable.
First, don’t be a dick. Second, my name is ironic, as I don’t drink. Third, reported for a personal attack. No it really isn't a pile of crap. It is reality. Alcoholics are really just incapable of taking responsibility for themselves. Keep going to meetings.

For you libs it always comes down to $ doesn't it. Prior to those students "opting out" the public schools were failing so putting the same students back in the public school system is still a net zero as far as improving goes.4. How does taking money out of public schools help improve them? He’s mentioned how those schools have to get better…well, for each student that opts out they lose funding.
