Gas prices are tanking!

The price of unleaded gas fell off a cliff on the. NYMEX yesterday. The current price is $2.3578. If that holds, prices should be well under $3.00/gallon after Labor Day. More good news for the Dems because that should lower inflation prior to the midterms too.

Good deal. Hopefully everything else follows suit.

Hypocrite of the highest order.
C'mon Kee, why do you keep pretending you don't get this? You are one of the brighter right-leaning posters on HORT.

Mitch is not a hypocrite, because he has known all along that a POTUS has almost nothing to do with gas prices. The satire he is attempting here is poking back at the dummies that DID actually think that, and demonstrated their ignorance with their little sticker games. It is a clap-back, not an unironic claim that Biden "fixed" gas prices.

And I know you know that because I know you aren't dumb.

Rural fuel stations have way less in town competition. I know of several rural Iowa towns that have a privately-owned C store and one Caseys and that's it.

No station in CR or DM could be more than a nickel higher and survive because gas purchases cannot be considerably higher and bring the customers inside for those high profit food sales.

Another reason it sucks to live in rural Iowa.
In CR we have a difference of .20+ cents depending where you are at.

Agree. I guess, to some extent, I can understand businesses trying to price gouge to make as much $$$ as possible, but you can't convince me Caseys pays a higher wholesale price for the Caseys selling it for $2.99 in Ankeny than the wholesale price they're paying for the Caseys in IC selling it for $3.59.

Last week at Loves in Newton, I overheard a convo between the clerk and a customer. Clerk tells lady..."Keep heading west, you'll pay less".

EXCEPT... you and I both know that deep down inside he and chis are both looking at gas prices and giving Biden credit for it. They won't admit it here but guaranteed they see the prices and go "yes Biden!! I knew hed do it!!"

I actually disagree. I think most know it is mostly out of any POTUS’ control.
It's possible but I doubt it. I think they're both cumming in their pants giving their hero another victory.

Yea the price difference between cities in Iowa is a bit perplexing. Like you said, same store but a city 90 miles away has much higher prices. Weird.

Yes, I believe Newton was $3.39 this morning.

Don't lie. GasBuddy says Costco/Sams @ $3.23. Unless you mean the "no lead" for your lawnmower?
That's costco.... probably SAMS as well. But who wants to wait in line for an hour. I bought this morning at $3.45. Also, why don't you quit attacking everyone and being a general dipshit.

It's dumb. Just a couple nights ago Caseys by my office was at 3.22, then the next morning back at 3.55. Now a couple days later, Casey's is still high, but multiple other stations are around 3.25.

Technically you didn't lie, but you know damn well we're not talking about the price of fuel 20 miles from downtown Omaha.

So calling out someone spreading falsehoods is being a dipshit?

That's a "you" problem if you can't wait a few minutes to fill the tank. Waiting an hour???? I know exactly where the Sam's in Omaha is. Never waited an hour for fuel.

Does anyone have insights on what has caused the price/gallon has dropped over the past few months? Is it increased supply from emptying the Strategic Reserves? Is it the fist bumps with the Saudi's that increased the supply? Is it lower demand for oil? Any factually based insight would be appreciated?

Ankeny Oralabor was $3.09 yesterday, and $3.19 today. Stagnated around $3.25 for the past 3 weeks in the DM area. For some reason it's pushing $3.50 at several places in WDM.

Never got below $3.74 up here in NW Wisc.
Minneapolis tourist area so motto is "lets keep sticking it to them"
Meanwhile locals get stuck also.
