3. Has Brands used up so much runway that unless we win a title by his next contract extension he's toast? Even if we're back to scoring 120+ points but only taking 2nd?

I'm one who always goes by points scored, as you can only control how many points you score.

Short of winning a title, I'd always prefer materially more points over a higher placing. I'd be happier with 105 points and 4th place than I would with 80 points and 2nd place. In fact, I pretty much always consider 100+ points to be a successful year, and think that should be the goal.
