Self inflictedYes Iowa did lose revenue. They donated the 200 tickets to a real charity. The Cedar Rapids Boys and Girls Club.
I don’t believe the 2 million $ figure either. $20,000 a year for 20 years, doesn’t add up.![]()

also, the krush bought tickets under the standard discounted group rates. There was no discount related to them being a charitable organization.
Call the number, see if you can get 200 discounted tickets as a regular Joe. You realize they ask questions, like what group you are part of in order to apply discounts right? Again, they said boys and girls home and got the discount. He could have said no group, and gotten the 200 tickets at regular price.Ticket Office Policies

You really need to stop posting. You have already shown you have no morals or know anything really relevant.Lame on both sides and they both look dumb right now.
So you really don't know shit. Got it.
The guy on the video said it. Iowa wouldn’t sell the krush tickets in the past. They want to keep opposing fans out.Call the number, see if you can get 200 discounted tickets as a regular Joe. Is this Ashley Joens dad?You win. This might be the dumbest response so far.

They don't have to say they are the "Krush". They could just say I want 200 tickets for everyone in my business to come and pay regular price. Also, who do they think they are surprising? Iowa fans around them don't give 2 shi**, and most probably don't even understand what these kids are doing. The lady in the ticket office doesn't care, she's not even going to the games. This whole "surprise" thing is just for the Illinois kids that do this and think it's awesome. The guy on the video said it. Iowa wouldn’t sell the krush tickets in the past. Obnoxious group of rich young adults lie about their identity, claiming to be a group of underprivileged children to gain admittance to basketball game in a block of 200 tickets. Why? Because your athletic department wants to keep opposing fans out…..otherwise what difference did it make to them?
Exactly, what I'm saying. I called with a party over 20 and they wouldn't give me discounted tickets. They don't just say "ok, you have more than 20, you get this discount". This guy is an idiot who has no idea what he's talking about.Group Prices: Discounted tickets for groups of 20 or more available for select games.
They picked the second home saturday conference game for Iowa in 4 seasons. I highly highly doubt Iowa is just letting every group that inquires about buying tickets access to this game. They probably had a limited amount of group tickets for this and thought that a Boys & Girls Club would be a worthy group to get these.
The director of the Krush also was just on KXNO in Des Moines and did say that Iowa gave them a special discounted price due to the charity aspect. Iowa wasn't giving other non-charity groups a discount on bulk tickets to this game due to the high demand. Again, 2nd Saturday home conference game in 4 seasons here--this was always going to be sold out and a high demand ticket.
Because your people LIED!!!!!Self inflicted
I don’t know, but I know this. The best meal I have ever eaten came from Jimmy John’s. Just thinking about it is borderline erotic. Is this Ashley Joens dad?

It's got nothing to do with integrity. It's about objectivity and nuance. People here are acting like this group created major fraud because it's an opposing fanbase. That's a fanboy driven perspective. Yes, they lied about who they were, but they didn't collect money for a charity and then use it for something else like people are comparing it to. Nobody to the best of my knowledge was damaged financially or otherwise. The group misrepresented their identity so as not to be denied access to a group block of tickets. They paid what I assume was the group rate for the tickets. The ticket office found out, felt duped, and decided to cancel the purchase just as they likely would have had they known the identity ahead of time. Then as a PR move to make them look better they told everyone they were giving the tickets to the local boys and girls club. They could have just let things be but they didn't want this group at the game so they went this route instead. That's what really happened here. You really need to stop posting. PS Don't get to worked up. You may post something in another thread I agree with and will like. It's just in this thread you have shown a complete lack of integrity.
The director of the Krush was on KXNO tonight and admitted that the university gave them a discounted group rate due to the charity component--Iowa wasn't giving other non-charity groups discounted tickets to this game due to it being a premium Saturday game with high demand. The Krush director said that they didn't realize that they were given a different rate when the purchased the tickets, but when it was explained to them that they did get that, they agreed with Iowa's decision to cancel. It's got nothing to do with integrity. If you have information that shows they paid less than they should have or that the intent was to cheat the university or that they haven't donated millions to charity over the years then provide it and I'll acknowledge it. Otherwise let's just stick to the facts here.
They wanted special accommodations.Because I am sure your athl department wouldnt sell them tickets otherwise?

Ok.Agreed ... but it's perfectly reasonable to call that lame that they wouldn't sell to visiting fans when your own fans hadn't bought them yet. I would call Illinois Football SUPER lame for refusing to sell tickets to Iowa fans when we hadn't sold out the game ourselves. It is like the cringy tactics NFL teams do to keep 49ers fans out and stuff.
Ok.Because I am sure your athl department wouldnt sell them tickets otherwise?
Give it a rest. You are defending liars. You can continue to say the same thing over and over, but the facts are they lied to get the tickets, they are NOT a charity (read my posts about 501c organizations). Iowa looks great in this. They found out about a bunch of kids who lied to the university and then gave those tickets to a real charity. It's got nothing to do with integrity. It's about objectivity and nuance. How do you know this? Do you work in the ticket office, because if you're correct, then there really is no justification for using a false identity.B.S.
They can still go buy your tickets in a secondary market. Lesson don’t say your a non profit seeking tickets when your not associated with non profit and tickets were for students and not underprivileged children.Got nothing to do with it. They bought the tickets. Let them go to the game. Weak sauce.
This...I can't believe how bad they are getting hammered. And, I am glad they got caught. But, they act like Iowa is the only school to try and limit the number of opposing fans that come to a home sporting event. Good grief, we (Iowa Fans) get hit all the time with different types of rules when we are going to an Iowa-Gophers game in Minn. They need to quit complaining. They do come up with some GREAT ideas though!!!Well, either way, no matter what side you are on, it appears from what I am hearing on Sports Talk radio that the Krush is getting CRUSHED in the court of public opinion.
Waaaah waaaah waaaaaaaa! Why? Because your athletic department wants to keep opposing fans out…..otherwise what difference did it make to them?
Not sure which game. but I do remember an Illini fan, as the the announcer introduced the singing of the national anthem and the crowd became totally silent, shouting out at the top of their lungs, FVCK IOWA! Paybacks a bitch, I approve...Was anyone at the Lickliter/orange crush game? How was their behavior?
I always appreciate our players speaking out before we play a team.
They aren't the boys and girls club. They are a charitable organization.
What did he say that needs “backing up?”I always appreciate our players speaking out before we play a team.
Makes me feel warm and fuzzy inside about our chances of winning................................and then I realize it's just because I pissed myself, and I wake up hung over to find that Iowa lost.
But yes, please keep posting stupid sh** on social media that in no way, shape, or form will come back to bite you in the ass Iowa players......both current AND former.
I have faith you'll back it up this time around even though you never do..................![]()

Winning on Saturday for starters.........What did he say that needs “backing up?”
Winning on Saturday for starters.........
did he say anything about winning the game on Saturday or about the Illini Basketball team?Winning on Saturday for starters.........
They falsely represented themselves that allowed them to get the bulk or reduced prices. Even if the Krush were a 501C3 they would have had to purchase it under that. Considering they try to trick the ticket offices they most likely would have gone under an individuals name and not gone through as the 501c3. Iowa had every right to cancel the purchase. I guess it depends when Iowa became aware and when the response from these entities occurred. Right now you are grasping and straws to try to defend these kids. Iowa gave the tickets as a donation to a sister program of the one that was fraudulently used to purchase the tickets. Misrepresenting yourself is fraud. They did receive discounted tickets and admitted as much in the interview. It’s clear they have gotten a pretty good blow back based on the interview. Iowa would not have given discounted prices to a group of Illinois college kids. They likely only did it because they thought it was the boys and girls club. It's where I stand as someone who is steeped in the law. Bulk ticket prices and the fact that Krush would have qualified as a 501c negates the issue of damages. It's a college prank and you folks are acting like you're morally outraged. Were any of you ever young? Has any other school reneged on an agreement to sell 200 tickets to a student group within days of the event? Herbie the Hawkeye must sit on a "very high horse."
