Inside ISU athletic dept

What is this $10 ticket myth? Apparently you haven’t read the other posts in this thread outlining ticket prices for ISU. The cheapest entry price for season tickets is $25 per game for the worst seats in the stadium across 8 sections of the corners and part of endzone. Other than student sections, all sections inbetween the end zones are $475 per season ticket. That’s $67 per game. There’s not this huge gap in ticket pricing that you hawk fans keep believing

I've never paid just 25 bucks to a Iowa that I can remember. Maybe in the eighties.

Rhoads first year at Trice I paid 20 bucks against NDSU. Sat in the west stands upper deck about the thirty.

Again, this has been covered in this thread already. Seats between the 20s at Jack Trice require a donation of anywhere between $500-$5,000 annually. My 4 season tickets on lower level 25 yard line require $1,000 annual donation. The only seats between the 20s that are at $500 level are high up in top 1/2 of upper deck.
Sorry. 5 pages about ISU is too many. Personally, it’s way too much for either school considering I rarely pay close to that outside but I guess we all waste money on something that’s not worth what we paid.

Don't you or your wife buy $5 Starbucks coffees or $2 bottled water???

You do realize that was 8 years ago, right? I swear, ticket price smack has to be the lowest form out there. You're going to brag because your school charges MORE for tickets? Congrats I guess. Good job...you pay more to watch a similar level team play worse opponents. I would think that you could also brag that Kinnick's seats aren't as wide as JTS, so you can pack more fans in there if you'd like.

I pay full price for my tickets plus donation. But, if the AD needs to discount the corners to get more fans in the door or make it more accessible to families, I'm perfectly fine with that. It's his job to put as many butts in the seats as possible while maximizing revenue and growing the fanbase. He's doing that.

Why would Iowa have done all the Kinnick and Carver upgrades if they don’t care about the fan experience? The fact remains that Iowa as far outspent isu on the fan and student athlete experience yet clown fans will never admit it.

Their little bro syndrome would never allow that,

You really think that ISU fans wouldn't admit that UI spends more? They obviously have a larger budget and everyone knows that college athletic programs would rather break even than show that they made a huge profit. Of course they spend more. I'll still contend that your AD has for a long time had a deaf ear when it comes to the fans. More so than ISU's for sure. If I were an iowa fan, it would annoy me.

Clown fans brag about attendance when it was ticket prices that drove a majority of it.

Cut prices and then turn around and claim massive attendance. Any 3 year old can see through the mirage but not clown fans. Their little bro syndrome doesn’t allow it.

Reading comprehension problems? I said west stands about the thirty that's not a corner. I've never paid that little at Kinnick, just a fact.

Personally, I think what both AD’s are doin is wise. If people are willing to pay more to travel to and see a game at your stadium you should absolutely charge it, as long as it doesn’t affect attendance. In the case of ISU, who has had less success in football, I think it is wise to charge less, fill seats, and lure in more families that will build your base for the future. Personally, reasonably priced jr. Cyclone Club tickets is the reason my family of five automatically buy season tickets and attend all of the home games, pay for concessions, parking, etc. If that price were to double we’d consider keeping them but would more than likely use that large sum to do other things as a family and watch games on TV.

Wow this statement is just hilarious. Just because you have the same record as Iowa for one season doesn't mean ISU is on same level as Iowa now all of a sudden. I'm not calling Iowa top tier school but come on that's laughable. As for playing worse opponents you do realize Iowa just played Penn St and Ohio St this year at home who finished in the top 10. The big 10 being the stronger conference the last how many years now.

They also have amnesia with the Hawks winning in Ames! Yes, ISU beat Oklahoma and TCU but the Hawks beat ISU at their place!!! Walk off homer, oh did it get quiet fast in JT stadium!!

By a freshman WR and a QB making their first start on the road.

Yes that made it even more glorious. They thought they were lucky Beathard was gone because he was a machine against them, well then came Nate Stanley. First start in a truly hostile environment. And thankfully he back and will be in Kinnick this year and BF has no fondness for ISU.

But without Akrum Wadley, their play would never have happened. Losing AW will prove to be significant, he changed a lot of games all by himself.

We have talent behind him. Maybe not the elusiveness but we have talent between IKM and TY.

I have no doubt the guys "next in" are good. But AW single-handedly changed games and the final W-L record. Drew Tate and CJB are probably the only offensive players under KFz who come to mind.

IKM and TY have potential to be game changers...for sure. I think we'll also need more at WR/TE from ISM, Noah Fant and "WR. Yet-to-emerge". If this offense learns to use all it's weapons... the bar could be high.

The clowns lose more starters than we do. Coaches too.

This is something I'm surprised hasn't been discussed more but losing their OC/OL coach is huge. Can talk about plug and replace with other guys in the program but it isn't always that simple. Point and case Phil Parker had some growing pains taking over for Norm who he worked with for many years. Let alone we all remember what happened in 12' when our OC left in February for an NFL position and the disaster we got. I also read they are bringing in a GA to promote within to OL coach. Heard a lot about Manning when Campbell was hired by the isu faithful and some award he won while at Toledo so it sounds like they are losing their best assistant and more importantly their play caller.

A lot will hinge on the OL. Hopefully with TP being in his second year as coach we see improvement across the line and have depth.

From what I have been seeing, it seems like Campbell will possibly take OC duties so maybe not much of a drop off, and as some noted look at what their pass and run rankings nationally were. Not exceptional. Their defense (surprisingly) carried them really, except against the Hawks of course.

Only if you assume Iowa couldn't march 46 yards in a minute and 23 seconds. AW made a great play, but you don't know what would have happened if that play never happened.

No, we'll never know. But we do know that Wadley made an incredible play...totally burning most of the Clown defenders. Special player.

Great thing about college sports...now the other guys get to make their plays and give us more highlights.

Pretty sure you could get $25 tickets before the TCU game.

The groans from the Clone fans were priceless. They knew they had some sort of crap the bed at the end syndrome.

I think it is funny you guys need to advertise on tv, billboards etc to try and sell dirt cheap tix! I never seen an iowa ad for tickets lol.

Like many of you, I think we are going to be very happy to have Nate under center for the next two seasons.

Just needs consistency and some of that hinges on the O Line. In some of those games, such as Wisky game that ball needed out in like 3 seconds or he was dead man walking. Of course if no one is open then he was dead man walking no matter what.

But Iowa was ok with 10K empty seats for Purdue. Did not want to sell them cheap?

With the number of season tickets sold, Iowa couldn’t have sold 10k tickets for any game. Do they do this in lames? Sell the same ticket multiple times?

Explains Pollfrauds bogus attendance figures.

Silly clown fans.

And yet Iowa still averages more per game by couple thousand than the max capacity at Jack Trice. Love when clones fans take shots at Iowa attendance. Before this year couldn't sell out a game unless it was UNI or Iowa until the Okie St game. I keep saying this is as smart as Iowa fan ripping on Michigan for not selling out the Big House even when have more fans than our max capacity.

The only thing more amazing than the isu little bro syndrome is just how often clown fans are willing to bring it center stage.

More please.

There may be a much bigger picture in mind if this is indeed true. Conference realignment happens in 5 short years. The thinking may be that by expanding both capacity and attendance, regardless of ticket price, will show other conferences that ISU is serious about football. Risk is obviously that it doesn't work, Campbell leaves and they have a 70,000 seat stadium while playing in the Mountain West. Pollard is a pretty ballsy guy and is smart. He knows he can go down as the one who saved athletics at ISU.
Anybody that thinks ISU is left out of any realignment is living in a dream world.
