For those keeping track, Valencia beat Oklahoma State 82-78 a few days ago.How could they give up 83? Frans got to go.
I'm most impressed by the rebound numbers from our true freshmen! For those keeping track, Valencia beat Oklahoma State 82-78 a few days ago.
It's still the off-season so everything comes with a pail of salt. But given the massive question marks going into this season, so far I'd say the exhibition results are: encouraging.
16 boards for Freeman and 11 for Dembele. 65-25 on the rebounding margin. That is very encouraging.I'm most impressed by the rebound numbers from our true freshmen!
4 TOs?!? Sit him on the end of the bench! Some interesting tidbits:
Iowa shot 14/16 from the FT line.
Perkins went 2/3 from 3.
Dembele went 2/5 from 3!
Payton went 7/17 leading the team in both makes and attempts from the field.
Brock Harding ended up with 4 fouls.
Freeman had 7 offensive boards.
Bowen led the team with 4 TOs.
Dembele went 2 for 5 from 3 and grabbed 11 boards? 🤔Some interesting tidbits:

I would be very interested in the minutes at point too.Anybody know who's starting at pg in these games?
Minutes would be great for all players. 11 boards or 4 turnovers have a lot more meaning in the context of minutes played.I would be very interested in the minutes at point too.
I believe that Bowen has been the starting pg.......Anybody know who's starting at pg in these games?

Illinois beat Valencia 105-60.
Pretty sure Illinois and Iowa got Valencia’s B team. They have more than one team, and I think Oklahoma State got their A team.
The Illinois game was streamed so I got to watch it. Valencia was not good.
Illinois played against a Crudeli Academy team. Not the team that Iowa played against. Crudeli has their schedule up on their website:Illinois beat Valencia 105-60.

Box score I saw didn't have minutes. Looks like Patrick and Mulvey didn't see action. Laketa and Kingsbury saw very limited minutes.Minutes would be great for all players. 11 boards or 4 turnovers have a lot more meaning in the context of minutes played.

Based on output I'd assume Bowen, Perkins, Payton, Dembele, and Freeman started. And Harding, Dix, Pryce, Brauns, and Krikke came off the bench.
