Stremlow is a DAWG, the next Syd......Really like the Iowa freshman. Talented, tough and play defense.
She is, but needs to stop driving against multiple defenders and trying to kick it out once she's trapped. Several turnovers...Hannah having a nice game
Guyton. Deal can play either spot, and she'll start as a freshman at one of those guard spots....Who is in line to fill in for her next year? Stremlow ?
Well, we did lose not only the best get ahead passer in history, but one of the best defensive rebounding point guards in the country in #22.....I noticed less fast break quick offense and more sets this year

I've seen enough to say that S'mya Nichols is a C-rate version of Ashley Owusu: her entire game was based around using a big guard body to bully her way into the midrange for cheap fouls. If she could actually get to the rim and/or pass she'd be a decent player.
I would have liked to see us maintain the 17 point lead we had built near the end of the 3rd quarter. Against good teams we won't win playing the way we played in the 2nd half. But I'll take the win.
4 points in the 1stQ allowed and only three of their misses were open shots. Jan disagree's...Defense is not good tonight at all
Thank you undersized... Thoughts and Prayers to Krysty and her family. Heartbreaking...Crossover at Kinnick Kid Captain: Krysty Bujakowska

She's really inconsistent as a jump shooter, but she had a couple of crafty big baskets in the second half when we needed them. Basically Jan will have to balance minutes for Kylie/McCabe. Kylie gives you solid defense, a plus rebounder for a guard, and she's a disrupter. She'll lead the team in steals. McCabe is a lights out 3 point shooter at over 50% on the year, but she must be open to get her shot off. She can't get her own shot, and can be bullied on defense and on the boards.I don't get why people think Feuerbach is such a good player. Yes, she guards well but other than that, she doesn't do much for them. She is another player who thinks she can shoot but rarely do they go in. She plays out of control a fair amount as well.
She had at least two that were really lame calls..Ok, enough of these crap calls. Syd got the bad whistle tonight.
You rarely see her without a smile on her face. One of the main reasons she said she knew right away that it would be Iowa was the joy the team played with. She loves the game......Olsen having fun tonight

Its not like it was across the country for Kansas either. I think Iowa just has the cred, because their fans show up everywhere if they can get tickets....Do the announcers know that Sioux Falls is on the Iowa border? Big congrats from them for Iowa fans travelling so well.
And that can't hurt in recruiting! Its not like it was across the country for Kansas either. I think Iowa just has the cred, because their fans show up everywhere if they can get tickets....
I was a little disappointed that we could really seem to give Kansas the "knockout blow." All the same, we were in control through almost all the game. To Kansas's credit ... they responded and played us toe-to-toe for 3 of the 4 quarters.
Not unlike Gabby last year ... Kylie's shot is a bit inconsistent. Furthermore, it still looks like Syd is knocking off rust and building team-chemistry with the rest of the ladies. If Syd can consistently play to the form she did in the tournament last year ... then I'd surmise that this team has the potential to be genuinely good. If not ... we're going to be highly dependent on the level of improvement made by our freshmen.
McCabe still needs to be the sharpshooter who she is ... but she also needs to continue to grow her game beyond just being a "role player." She's still a little bit of a defensive liability ... and she's could use to be able to further develop her ability to create her own shot.Meh…I don’t think we are that thin. There is of course the concern of a super long season for the frosh 🤷♂️ they do sometimes fade late season, but Afolter is a dawg. Feurbach is a gamer. We need McCabe to do enough to sustain being on the floor more. But Olsen & Stuelke will be tough to handle all year. I’m still wait and see until the Big 10 on Addy but her strength has definitely improved. ISUs interior game will be a good test.
We hope it is the girl recovering from kneeWho is in line to fill in for her next year? Stremlow ?
Lawrence, Kansas is closer to Sioux Falls than Iowa CityIts not like it was across the country for Kansas either. I think Iowa just has the cred, because their fans show up everywhere if they can get tickets....
by a few minutes perhaps. I would think, however, that there would be Iowa fans within an hour of Sioux Fall to fill up a 3500 seat arena.Lawrence, Kansas is closer to Sioux Falls than Iowa City
I believe Guyton is practicing. She suits up and warms up with the team, so hopefully she's close. We hope it is the girl recovering from knee
Hey CM, missed seeing u aroundThanks for the greetings brother and I mean that. I have found my mental health is much better when I avoid things like Twitter and message boards, but I have to confess you women’s basketball guys I have missed.
For your 9, I'm guessing you're talking about Hannah, Lucy, Addison, Sydney, Kylie, Taylor M, Taylor S, Ava, and Teagan.Just my opinion, but it seems to me that there are fewer "complete" players in the women's game. Those that can consistently hit the 3-pointer, drive to the hoop, defend and rebound. To overcome this, you need depth, team chemistry and a coach that can find ways to meld the pieces together. Iowa has 9 players that belong on the court (maybe eventually 10 with Guyton?), the team chemistry is evident, and so far it looks like Jensen is up to the task. So they check all 3 boxes.

Jada and AJ each not being one of those 9 will hold the team back when the freshmen start hitting the wall. Players in their 3rd and 4th years shouldn't be passed up by freshmen. Would have been good if either one of them could give crunch time minutes as backup forwards.
Not much more to say than this! Well said.We are not as complete a team as last year, no surprise. But the pieces are there to be really good in the near future. Right now our 2 & 3 are somewhat limited. Syd is still regaining form. Kylie is quick can drive, good defense, but not great shooter. Taylor elite shooter but lacks the quickness to guard or drive. Support them that is what we have and they battle. Our fresh class is here and going to be adding to this team this year and more to come. Love this team that will improve all
