Makes sense to do it vs the worst scoring defense in B1G and Fran has owned that position consistently. Hoiberg plays pretty wide open but even he has embraced defense;. You can't find a coach that give less of a crap about asking his players to rebound/defend.

Anyway, getting blown out doen't end a season. Not making any corrective actions does.

Iowa upgraded.

People calling Perkins a pt guard last year were clueless. He's a 3rd guard.

The offensive is so much better this year going from no pgs to two and having proper floor spacing.

Fran could have played 3 guards last year if not for the desire to shoehorn Patrick into the rotation.

Still believe this? Perkins was our only guy who even tried to play defense.

He looked really good as a freshmen but you did point out some of the things he needed to work on. Also he needs to develop an outside shot. Unfortunately, he looks a lot like the same player he was last season. Now, he obviously is the center of attention for the other teams defense so it is harder for him to play out there, but he needed to progress much further this season. If he stays at Iowa it doesn't look like he has a very good chance to play basketball beyond college. I will be very surprised if we see him in an Iowa uniform next year if Fran is still the coach. I think there is a better chance he stays with a new coach than with Fran.

That’s not my point. It’s one thing to go to a 3 or even 4 guard lineup with athletes but we’re doing it with a 5-11 pt guard, a 6-0 2 guard, Sandfort though he’s 6-6 might as well be Garza on defense and then Dix who on another team would be adequate. And some of you complaining about Dr Toms teams they were losing to teams much much better than this very average Wisconsin team that dropped 116.
