Jok vs Naz in College Slam 3-Point Contest

I'll take that bet.

what was funny...poster makes the bet...then his boy Dez walks out to start shooting with his dark glasses on (of course we now know it was to just make awareness...)..

anyway I'll bet (oops) ... Mr Poster the Bet guy wasnt all that happy his boy decided to make a mockery of it...Dez just wasnt thinking straight.

Perception is a funny thing.

Since the ISU player wore sunglasses to bring "awareness", he is automatically mocked + ridiculed by many on this board. Most, but not all, posters have made light of his small gesture. I even saw one post crediting Iowa for having a med school. Seems odd?

Perhaps a member of Long's family or a friend has cancer, and this was a small way to honor him or her? I don't know, but what if. Would that change your perception of Long (or anyone) wearing sunglasses during this contest?

It looked like he was having a blast, enjoying the moment, but he didn't shoot well. Okay, no big deal. Had he won, his status as a great shooter wouldn't have increased. Finishing "last" doesn't diminish it either.

Naz has been a great player + representative of Iowa State. Happy to see him chosen to participate in this event last night. I guess I'm happier that he shot well at Kansas earlier this year, when it really counted.

By the way, Jok was lights out. Good for him.

If a member of his family had cancer there is NO doubt we would have heard all about it. IFor a "great shooter" I am glad that I have now watched him play 3 times--3 pt--Purdue--Iowa earlier-and he was fantastic in all 3 as far as I am concerned.
He was trying to have fun last night but it was forced, notice the other guys really did not respond to him, sign of a "great leader" and representative...
Him and Monty played 4 years , made the tourney, good for them, only beat one team seeded better than an 11 in those 4 years. Lost to a 14, Legend in their own minds......hope he enjoys europe or Iran as he has no future playing here.

There it is, clown fan gets pissy when fellow clown fans show up on this site act like douches and get put in their place.

It truly is amazing what clown fans choose to read and interpret and what they choose to ignore.

It is why isu is so damn entertaining.

is that U Dez?

ya...you wore those glasses to bring awareness ...as a cancer survivor ..it really didnt hit me that was what u were doing...what it did was make me think how you mocked the event by purposely losing it.

Ya...Dez ..not everything is all about you.

Nevermind found it in page 3....wow he won!!!! That's amazing, is this the first time a Iowa guy has won? Also where was it played at?

so now it was a pointless competition...:D.

he made a mockery of it by wearing the glasses..and dont give me a speech about the clicks....I know all about what bethematch means. Every participant gave it their best effort....except for one.

When do they raise the banner for this monumental achievement? I'd like to be there. Clearly more important than anything the team might accomplish

Naz long after the contest said "jok knows I'm a better 3 point shooter than him". I'm so glad the clowns are gone from the hoiberg era, he didn't care about character of players at all!

Probably the same time Iowa hangs a number of an individual in Carver, which would be never.

We will leave that individual crap to little bro isu. Keep trying though clown fan, nothing but laughs.

Oh by the way how is the isu boycott of the AP coming? Have they capitulated to the will of the self proclaimed mighty isu fan base and made lord god Monte Morris at least a 3rd team All-American? Or do we chalk up yet another example of a clown not being nearly as awesome as clown fans think he is?

thats all you got....your boy makes a mockery out of the event...and all you can come up with is your banners' & oh...he was bringing awareness to cancer...

you clowns that post on HR (that would be "hawkeye" report) are a joke....grow up & call it what it was...Dez Long being stupid.

If Peter Jok had been dumb enough to wear dark glasses while participating ... I'd be the first to jump his ass....for doing so. It was great to see him wearing the Kenny Arnold shirt...another cancer survivor.

I love to see tavern hoks taking the pro-cancer position. Anything to oppose ISU

There it is again clown fan shows up on bi bro's board and acts like a douche just like Naz. Raise your hand if you saw that coming.

Douche and isu go together like peas and carrots. Give us some more clown fan.

We want more. We want more. We want more.

That was my point iclone, "anything to oppose ISU."

I guess I will enjoy looking up at another Big 12 tourney banner and another NCAA tourney banner. Much more meaningful.

Good for Jok for winning the 3 point challenge, but if he didnt win, would that have lessened all he accomplished this year? I hope your answer is no.

Next year will be interesting. High expectations for Iowa. High expectations are hard to live up to. I just hope no one calls Iowa "young" anymore. This board will be entertaining.

Clown fans on cryclown fanatic are obsessed being opposed to anything Iowa. But as usual no clown fan will be able to tell us why that is if they don't have little bro syndrome.

Will Stender be the first ever? I am willing to bet no. Any takers, Txowan you out there?

Bump for Cydkar, Txowan, Stender, Agr or any other clown fan to tell us how isu fans don't have little bro syndrome despite what their posts here and on cryclown fanatic say.

Actually they will still be "young" next year with 0 seniors starting or even expected to contribute much.

I am going to type this slowly so your mouth can keep up as you read it.

Tournament appearances: Iowa 25, ISU 18
Tournament Record: Iowa 29-27, ISU 18-18
Final Fours: Iowa 3, ISU 1
All Time series record: Iowa 44-26
Recent AP All-Time Program ranking: Iowa 23, ISU 53
Scoreboard: Iowa 78, ISU 64

Any questions?

Sentence 1: Right, because all of your contributions on an IOWA HAWKEYE message board are in support of Iowa.
Sentence 2: Blue Blood programs and legit Top 25 programs don't care about tourney championships. Lol. An NCAA banner is much more meaningful, agreed. But, if you want a history lesson on where things still stand between Iowa and Iowa State, check out Ronman's post above.
Sentence 3: Agreed. Personally, I didn't even watch the 3 point contest.
Sentence 4: Iowa will not have high expectations next season. Yes, this board is and always will be entertaining. Iowa fans are fickle and the Cyclone fans who flock to this board are mostly mental midgets with an ever growing inferiority complex seeking validation. If I ever visit a Cyclone board thumping my chest, God, please, take me now.

Oh, and please, GTFO. Thank you.

He (or she) walked right into that one. He (or she) can try to back track all he (or she) wants, but that comment was more than tacitly hinting at the all-time success of both programs.

Of course, history only matters to Cyclone fans when it's a matter of convenience. Then history is irrelevant, and they really didn't start keeping score until Todd Lickliter came to town.

Is it true that Iowa has not been in a Sweet 16 since last century?

So the sunglasses were to bring awareness to cancer, eh? Then why did he jokingly take them off after his miserable failure and act like he was going to throw them to the ground?

Wearing sunglasses for cancer awarness?

He showed up, got a free pair of sunglasses and decided to wear them to show off.

You dont just off the cuff do something for a cause that means anything to you because no one would have any clue what you're doing and why.

Seriously clone fans, get a clue. This guy loves attention, thats all it is.
