Just want to encourage the left to learn to use guns and obtain them

Well, this unhinged lefty didn't use a gun, but it sounds like her dad could have used one:

Dude calls anyone who disagrees with him a Radical leftist. So yes I do think he's talking about me.

Now I also think he is **most likely** just talking shit. But I don't want to bet my life on **most likely**.

I don't need anyone to spin calling people with different political views "the enemy from within" that the military might need to be deployed against. It's insanely clear what he is talking about.
Except you're wrong bc you're easily manipulated.
Now if he comes out and says, "why are you liberals all going out and buying up guns, you're going to need an F16 if you think you're going to have a chance against the government..." then maybe you'd have something. Where have we heard that before?

It's been days now since you started this thread, Hoosier. And I don't feel any better at where we're at. Prior this this election I was as anti gun as you can get. But I don't know anymore. I'm not sure if there's any limit to how hard Trump is willing to make it on people who don't support him. So I don't know. I don't know how I'll respond if Trump decides he's going to come after me.

Bogus..

Burke reportedly told detectives that she wasn't able to convince her 67-year-old father to turn the lights off. In frustration, she retrieved an ice climbing axe, proceeded to trip and strangle him with the tool, and bit him. She also admitted to striking him several times on the head and side with both the blunt and sharp ends of the axe, police said. A critical blow pierced Timothy Burke's ribcage and entered his lung. As he struggled to breathe, his daughter sat by him until he stopped breathing.

In their minds, yes.

That doesn't really make sense but,

If I recall correctly, Hoosier bought guns during the first Trump administration and it was more about loons with short tempers and quick trigger fingers rather than the POTUS ordering a round-up of political enemies. I would imagine he's expressing a similar concern now.

Trump has been known to rabble rouse his supporters to violence and then deny his involvement, so I would expect something similar to be the chief concern here. Rarely are those types of situations ordered by authority in broad daylight, they are most often inspired and then downplayed by the leadership sympathetic to the cause.

My point is there's lots of paranoia in this thread.

I believe Trump is a sociopath and America is in steep decline but the odds of Hoosier or Huey being targeted by the Trump regime or MAGA supporters are low.

And as I posted earlier in this thread, owning a gun makes the gun owner more likely to be shot themselves.

I'm not saying I have a chance. I'm saying I can extract a price against anyone who is trying to carry out violence against me.

There is a difference.

And just like that, Huey realized what the 2A was all about........

I’ve got an old aluminum baseball bat that I cut the top off of, and I filled it will ball bearings an epoxy. I could very easily cave in someone’s skull with it. I also have two dogs.

But I honestly don’t worry about it the same way I don’t worry about getting hit by lightening. Violent home invasions are just not something worth concerning yourself with they are so rare.

The people imagining themselves blowing away the bad guys are actually cosplaying as well. There are plenty of cases where well trained police officers are completely useless in situations they have specifically practiced. This isn’t a shot at police, they are professionals and are likely best positioned to do a good job in those high stress situations and they fail a lot. I’m not arrogant enough to assume I’d do better.
That seems…unnecessary. You do realize a baseball bat is fairly lethal as is, right?

It is weird that people think that libs aren't armed. Every last person in my family voted for Harris. Almost all of them have guns. It's a pretty good assumption that anybody you run across these days, whether lib or con, is packing. You can try coming at us, Rs, but you're going to be in for a rude awakening.
Yet it’s the libs who scream “IT’S THE GUNS, STUPID!!!” every time there’s a shooting. Seems a bit hypocritical.

Pew, pew, mother*******

You're starting to tread into government separatist and traitor to the country language HH. Careful now.

Odd thread. Don't cave into paranoia. That's for the Alex Jones types. Sure, there's some lunatics and gravy seals out there, but they mostly just cosplay in the woods. This country is far too lazy to have too many stirred to violence.
You more of a jam or jelly guy?

I'm a white male in an upper middle class neighborhood. The odds of me or my family becoming another firearms death statistic are infinitesimal.... until I bring a gun into the home. Then they go up by orders of magnitude. Math.

Hard to swing a bat in a hallway. Needed it shorter and with the weight on the end it does make it an effective tool.

This seems… unnecessary might be my motto for the gun lobby but here we are.

I stand corrected; that makes more sense. 😊

Nonetheless, I’ll stick with my gun.

Best way to deter mass violence against yourself and those like you is to ensure those contemplating the violence that there will be costs to carrying it out.
I got no problem with people learning to use guns (I don’t know how frankly) though I find it a bit odd that your “sell” is to shoot someone, even in something vaguely reminiscent of self defense.

Consider hunting or sporting clays first
