Lawsuit filed against Des Moines Register for ‘misleading subscribers’ with final Iowa poll

She is active in private practice today. MM as my businesses think she is very good at what she does… as do her peers. MAGA brains cannot compute.
Kind of makes one think she did it on purpose and then stepped down to avoid hard questions. Turns out she will need to answer those questions after all

Ridiculous. It would be one thing if the Des Moines Register had any credibility and influenced anyone, but it’s a joke - so a frivolous action in my opinion.

She shouldn’t have to. Not one piece of evidence has been presented to support these accusations, yet you treat them as credible.
Well other than the poll she tanked to interfere in the election. Allegedly of course. At least there isn't a prosecutor finding old jaywalking offenses to cobbled together to charge her with a felony

So now a bad poll means something nefarious happened? I assume you’re looking into every bad poll out then right?

Well not that good. Given the facts.

Being 18 points off in polling is like three standard deviations and good for dead last place.

Maybe she should hang it up to avoid further embarrassment.

Then I’m going to sue Trump for ‘misleading voters’ when he doesn’t fulfill his campaign promises.

Remember when the left was for the working class and the under represented? Now they are the party of rich leftists and major corporations and anti American subversives like Soros, turning their backs on everything you once stood for.
Who's cabinet has a sh*load of BILLIONAIRES? Sure the GOP is for the little guy, when every bit of legislation chips away at programs that help the poorest of Americans.

Oh, I just saw that Meta’s new board member Joel Kaplan is leading this suit.
1. How was he harmed?
2. Any guesses which way Facebook will trend?

This hasn’t been dismissed yet?

Anybody know when motions will be filed? The idea that this is a viable consumer fraud theory is laughable, notwithstanding the breadth of consumer fraud laws. And she was right to publish rather than suppress an outlier poll.

I think this a frivolous lawsuit like I said early on. I'm wondering if any of the lefties on here would want to have some answers from her though.

You all were beyond giddy when this poll came out and then you had the rug pulled out from under you. Are you curious how she got it so wrong and how or why you were deceived?

Sure. You going to sift through the numbers with us to understand why economically vulnerable Iowans like you voted for a guy who is going to f**k you over?

I didn't vote for anyone. Want to talk about the topic at hand? I asked a legitimate question. Do you wonder why/how she got it so wrong? Take your politics out of it. It would be interesting to see how it happened.

Giddy? I think most of us were cautiously optimistic when she released her poll - I certainly didn’t expect Harris to win Iowa, but thought that if it was going to be closer here than expected, that perhaps it meant good things elsewhere.

I’d love to know where her poll went wrong, after such a long track record of accuracy. Saying we were all deceived is a bit much tho. That implies intent on her part.

Ruth never played for the White Sox, fool!

you asked about Ruth deliberately striking out. When the white Sox threw the world series they got investigated. Even made a movie about it.

If she deliberately threw the game on her poll to affect the outcome of the game she needs to be investigated.

And if there was intent on her part what then?

Sigh.

Provide one iota of evidence to support this beyond a bad poll and we’ll talk.
He said what if. What would you think if intent was shown?

Back to my post, I can agree that deceived might be unwarranted. Certainly mislead without comment on intent. The poll sent shockwaves across the whole country for the exact reason you said. If it was that close in Iowa that meant it could be a huge lead for Harris elsewhere. I think it would be interesting to learn how that happened. We are not likely to learn that though.

Doibi….she has already “answered” these questions…and shown her work! She has answered these questions on television and in the paper..she published her “data numbers” In th we paper a month ago…this is a pure nuisance law suit…There is no reason to justify “the conspiracy” you so badly want to see here… and certainly no evidence or proof.

No this poll was way out of line. If nothing nefarious is going on then that will be proven in discovery.

That is the key here, the lawsuit allows for discovery and then we will really get to learn what went on. Methods, sample, emails, conversations. I, for one, am here for it.

Doesnt matter if it never goes to trial IMO.

Well she published what she wanted people to see on TV. Discovery works differently than that and people with expertise will be able to take a look at everything. If she truly was that wrong so be it but if she intentionally released information to affect an election that is something much different.

No she didn’t. She explained herself on TV and explained the data. In the paper she published the numbers she gathered.
Let the witch hunt begin. Typically Trump at his worst.

Still waiting for an explanation of on what grounds this lawsuit should proceed. You don’t get to just file a lawsuit over something you don’t like and then get every scrap of info you want.

“what really went on?” You’re starting already from the assumption that something nefarious went down.

PROVIDE ONE IOTA OF EVIDENCE THAT SHE INTENTIONALLY RELEASED A BAD POLL.
