I remember one of them. He is an Iowa forum legend with "possible" eligibility left.I'm sure all of us read the book with Jaybo and Leclere...I think his senior season was the only one that he didn't have to cut weight. Made for a happy camper. Great book. Hey Omahahawk, you remember who was in that 125 bracket?

I'm very far removed from this so it may be a dumb question. Does Happel have the ability to make noise next year at 141?
Lol, I have to make sense to you? I dont remember that being a message board requirement when i signed up?
Getting SSJ a few starts is far from pointless. There is valuable learning and teaching moments for him and the staff in each of those starts. Secondly we may need SSJ next season. He is big enough at 157 that he could be a backup guy at both 157/165 next year. What if Kem/Sorny @157 or say Bull @165 get hurt? We need to have a backup as up to speed as we can. Plus what if Paddock cant make 165 again next year? Im just saying it wouldnt hurt to put a little more emphasis into SJS development while at the same time see if we can light a fire under Cooper being on the bench and making him fight for his job again or at least getting that urgency back in that he need to wrestle like he is under water fighting to get a fresh breath of air.
I think Coop was wrestling a tad bit better before he got the job handed to him, Brands went public with that, and then got ranked. He seemed to be too content at midlands for me. Looked like he had no worries when Gantt was just packing his lunch. Get upset Coop, even JoJo Smith showed what he was about getting 3rd period takedowns while behind on Nolf and Imart this season. Show some fight, get yourself a small thing to build on. Imart is going to just work him tomorrow but give me something to show me you dont like it. I had enough of that nothingness with Jeva. I dont care if you push Imart in the back or drive him out of bounds. Just something. But thats just my opinion, which mostly never makes sense.
Prolly reading to much into tho. Really if someone can tell me that SJS is getting worked over by any one of the other true freshman around that weight? Then ya i agree that getting SJS some starts doesnt mean a thing. But ive never heard or got the impession that any one other than Copper, Rhoads and Paddock are beating SJS in the room. Correct me if i am wrong? Please tell me a Guenther, Erickson type or someone is emerging out of the million 157 pounders we recruited?
I will hang up and listen to any practice room guru's? But last time I could swear it was SJS emerging. Ah full circle! Im dizzy, gotta go lay down now.
All very logical / well-thought out, except for the part where you think that SSJ actually exists.
The Aliens get him too???
Wasn't Telford a 103 his freshman year of high school?103

HiWillie is correct 152, 160, 160, and 170. Chris Phillips, teammates with the Stiebers and Tessari and maybe the best freshman I've ever seen, won all 4 at 170/171 I believe.Curious what wieght did Alex win his first state title at? I remember reading that he could be the heaviest weighted kid to win 4 Ohio state tiles? if that makes sense, not sure how to word that.
And lets assume he gets the 170 this year. What 4 weights did he win at?

He beat Joey Slaton at 103 and Mitch Mueller at 125 right? Not sure who he beat at 152 and 171.

Is no one worried that Marinelli will outgrow 165 before he gets to Iowa City? I know he could make 160 now, but that is with a cut. He is more comfortable at 170 and he is not a small 170 by any stretch. He still has at least another year to grow (maybe two with a redshirt).
How do you guys see the lineup shaking out if Marinelli can't make 165?
He actually said he might be at 157 for college at Conflict. I think he had read the tea leaves and started his move up to 165 for next year. I believe he walks around at around 170.
Are you suggesting that Marielli that will go 197 next year? ooooh, that's fun.Is no one worried that Marinelli will outgrow 165 before he gets to Iowa City? Luke Troy, Kaleb Young, or Paddock at 65. One of the former stays at 57 when Sorensen graduates. Is no one worried that Marinelli will outgrow 165 before he gets to Iowa City?
