My fault I know. Just depressing really. They’ll do anything other than show wrestling. They are always trying to create story lines and placate to the casuals. 2 mins of wrestling, 10 mins of bs, followed by 8 mins of blowing psu.

Gotta admit...Iowa has a tendency to have undersized guys at many weights.Feel bad for Cruz. I know there just aren’t enough adults that small to warrant a 118 weight class, but the guy just gets manhandled at 125. That wasn’t a technique issue one bit. That was a guy that much bigger, longer and stronger tossing him all over the place as soon as he got to his legs. mcCrone wanted him there…
but it’s a nice tiebreaker for “who is wrestling the best”Almost doesn’t count here thankfully
I disagree a bit (I know with you that’s a dangerous thing) I think it is a technique issue…in some respects. You have to create angles, especially when you’re the smaller guy. He didn’t do that. Eventually McCrone got used to the shot, timed him up and folder him like a chair. At this level if you take 8 straight on shots to the same leg with roughly the same set up, you’re gonna get caught.Feel bad for Cruz. From your lips to Gables ears.Alirez goes down. That's two national champs losing so far. Can Starocci be next please?
lol, nice try. It’s not like they have guys that aren’t cutting weight and are undersized across the board. Cruz is just an anomaly. He is simply to small for the smallest weight class there is and he gets absolute muscled by guys that are walking around well over 140…Gotta admit...Iowa has a tendency to have undersized guys at many weights.
To me...that's a system problem.

lmao of courseWe lost a team point at end of Cruz's match evidently. Telford and Terry were in the corner. "Loss of mat control"

Haha. To be fair when does Terry have mat control while he’s in competition mode. I don’t even care. I love that about the guy.We lost a team point at end of Cruz's match evidently. Telford and Terry were in the corner. "Loss of mat control"
Any asst coaches in the portal?lmao of course
nothing like costing your team a point in consi r1 when your 29 seed is getting majored.

I get where you are coming from but he isn’t a sweep single guy, nor is he lightning fast He DID hit some misdirection shots with his head inside, but McCrone is so much longer he was able to catch his ankle every time.I disagree a bit (I know with you that’s a dangerous thing) I think it is a technique issue…in some respects. I like Cruz, love his effort and heart. Unfortunately he’s just not big or talented enough to contend right now, and baring improvement in both areas, I hope he’s not a factor in Iowas 125 plans next March.

We haven't crowned a national or conference champion in 2 years, they ain't wrong.I'm getting the vibe that ESPN has already relegated Iowa to no longer being a big dog.
Hawks need to change that with results on the mat.
This is a realistic bummerWe haven't crowned a national or conference champion in 2 years, they ain't wrong.
