Nebraska offer list over 400

Yards per play? Total yards? Yards of Yards? Yards of beer.

Ya don’t win games on yards. You won the yards war last year — where’d that get you?

Points win games. We win in all three phases.

Shorter SCORING drives is our MO.

While the opposing DC is giving you YARDS from the 20 to the 50, we’re pushing into FG range where things tighten up.

So really, you do yards. Maybe you can win the Yards National Championship to put in your trophy case with you West-Midwest Regional Recruiting Championship.

We’ll taking care of winning games, with points. And sending players to the NFL.

Any Braskas man enough to handle this post?
I love how you guys (pink)skirt around any issues that don’t suit you well.

You guys have been absolutely blistered on this thread — I’ve thoroughly enjoyed watching it. It gives me a small glimpse into what it must be like to be a Hawkeye and hammering your Huskers.

You sound like you must know Scott Frost, based on how it sounds like you are judging his character.

Before you cite the one, sorry, old line people over here like to cite, check the police report before you talk about hiding in closets. Anyone who likes to mention that is a troll, because they refuse the facts and rather spout their hate for someone based on something they wish were true.

Frost's personal character is not at question. I'm fairly confident he is a stand up guy. It's the recruiting process that has been questioned.

You’re making my point for me. Note the trend, 30% improvement each year. With the same improvement it’ll be around #30 this year.

Top 30 PPG and Offensive Efficiency with a Top 15 Scoring Defense. If that happens you can put us in Indianapolis.
Iowa lost there 3 top pass catchers from last year, 2 were 1st round NFL talent at TE. Others will step up to make up some of that production, but you don't lose those 2 TEs and just not feel it. Esp, in a TE heavy offense.

Next year, Iowa losses Stanley and prob their 2 starting tackles. I think last season my have been a peak for offensive production, at least for a little while.

Nobody with a functioning brain is going to believe that Nebraska's coaches and staff have vetted more than 400 prospects who have offers. Might be some future or current criminals there.

And then there are offers. We are offering you an athletic scholarship which will save you tens of thousands of dollars if you play for us. But not yet, you can't commit now. There are ten other guys we offered scholarships to, let's see what happens

You are a helluva player, don't think of yourself as one of our top 400. You are among the top 200.
Nobody with a functioning brain believes Neb accepted a single commit last cycle from a recruit they hadn't vetted. If you're brain is not functioning and you think there was a player last cycle that wasn't vetted...who was it and why do you think that?

Not all of Neb offers are committable. It is a way to gauge interest in a recruit who's film they like. The vetting can happen before and after the offer. If mutual interest still exists the recruit is brought in on a visit, if the visit goes well and the mutual interest still exists, a commit is possible. I have no idea why this is a difficult concept to grasp.

Why Iowa fans are grabbing at straws on this blows my mind.

Still nothing, crickets?

Don’t worry about our TE production. Nobody knew the name Hockenson either.

What you should worry about is our running game. We started to get that figured out at the end of the year. Our backs are coming of age. OL has NFL written all over it. If we get back to the point where we’re gashing teams in the run game plus our TEs doin’ the Iowa thing, plus receivers that can create space and make contested catches.

I appreciate your concern for our TE position. But I’m pretty sure we’re going to be fine. Two upperclassmen, and two stud underclassmen.
That one spot that we can count on to produce. Always has.

Why are you here...to start crap? You know Iowa fans aren’t welcome on the Nebraska board so why should you be treated any different over here? I guess you could say because we have more class and you’d be correct.

@SWIowahawks always provides great conversation on the Husker board and people appreciate his analysis. I don't care how I am treated. I come over here for good conversation, when it happens, and if it doesn't I have a bit of fun. It's an internet message board. Calm down.

KC? Where’d you go? Answer up. Don’t toss up this weak sauce and then go run and hide?

I already answered this post. If you want to go by points scored, Brian Ferentz has been weak in that department as well. Had the Iowa offense been just average they may have won the West once or twice since Ferentz was gifted the OC job.

So they are offering players football scholarships, but not REALLY offering them football scholarships? Heck, why not offer two thousand?

I think I’ve heard them explain pretty well. Their offers are an offer to be recruited, whereas our offers are for an athletic scholarship.

Our system has worked better at identifying players who can play at a high-level or even possibly the NFL.

Their system has proven good for recruiting rankings

I knew you were going to bring up the one Hawkeye fan that kisses Nebraska fans rear ends. He doesn’t say things on the Husker board that is considered controversial like you idiots do over here. Nice try moron!

Frost has not been at Nebraska to prove anything about his recruiting. Iowa’s system has proven to be consistent. Unfortunately, consistent means on average 7.5 wins a year.

At least tag him @SWIowahawks . He doesn't kiss ass, he is just over there to talk football....

Oh there you are, Yards Boy. Let me help you edit:
Frost has not proven anything at Nebraska.
7.5 - 4 = 3.5
What is that you ask?
It’s a proof that our average is nearly twice as good as you record the past two years.

Hey if you think 7.5 wins a year is great, kudos to you. If Frost is at Nebraska for 20 years and is producing 7.5 wins a year and winning the division once every decade I will be very disappointed.

<golf clap> Wow, what a badass? Then what you’d only be fan-lite? No fan at all? Or just a little disappointed?

Look at the whole picture - your single 7.5 win metric means little. Very very little. I wouldn’t trade you program position right now for anything. We are picking up steam.
We’re putting players in the League [EARLY].
We’re talked about for three possible [UNDERCLASS] 1st rounders. We have committed almost a full boatload of guys, which our coaches [TOP DEVELOPMENT NATIONALLY], who obviously have an acute eye for talent have signed off on. This year will finally give us back the balance that we’re looking for at WR — and from there I’d put us up against anybody not named Alabama or Clemson.

This is what a program on the rise looks like.

What’s your story?

Delusion at its finest.

To those in the outside world only one of the two programs is on the rise and it’s certainly not Iowa.

Nice, I like how you bring stats and facts into you argument. It keeps you from sounding stale, bland and weak. At least counter it sunshine. Tell me about Vegas or something.
Otherwise it just looks like you don’t have anything worthwhile to say.

I’ve actually been the only one to bring stats to the table. You, are just throwing out pot shots because you have lost. Very typical.

I could bring up Vegas but you already know the answer to that.

Pot shots?! I sunk your whole dang fleet.

Good luck. May you roll up 500 yards on everyone you play only to lose by a single point. There, then you could point to progress!

That's a pretty good site. I like the breakdowns actually. Thanks. Is that just last year? I'm not trolling you honestly just asking. Again thanks for the site I like going through this. Weird that N. Suh isn't listed.

For 2018 according to the site. It seems that every school has some players salaries listed as N/A, which probably skews the results somewhat.

Not sure how I would feel as an NFL player, knowing everybody in the world could look up my salary. Then again, the lower paychecks are pretty darn good. I recall a radio interview with Jay Hilgenberg after he announced his retirement having played many years with the Bears and one with the Browns. Asked what he would miss most about the NFL Hilgy said, "Honestly, the money."

Yeah I think that comes with the territory, but I know it would be a weird feeling.

I'd assume they don't like 2000 kids film. Keep in mind this is not a one-size-fits-all for every offer and every kid. But yes...not all offers are committable. This isn't unusual in college football.

What is unusual is being in the middle of the country with little local talent and trying to get kids from FL, GA, TX, and CA to visit Lincoln on their own dime or using one of their 5 OVs. Having an offer helps bridge that "interest" gap.

Ultimately, the kids that commit to Neb have been "vetted" and have been deemed a good fit by the staff for the team and culture they're building. So how they got there doesn't really matter does it.

So what do the Nebby coaches say to a player when they offer him a football scholarship but don't really offer him a football scholarship? Not messing with you, just curious. If the 399th ranked recruit wants to accept do they tell him, "No way Jose, we offered you a football scholarship but not yet."

Just be honest and upfront with the kids. Let them know they have an offer, many times it's through their coaches, and when the staff is able to speak to the kid let him know they like him and want to get to know him better and vice-versa. Very few if any kids try to commit on the spot...maybe a local kid but they are easy to get to know being their local.

Recruiting is a process for both the staff and recruits...both do their due-diligence on each other before deciding to pull the trigger. I'm not seeing a problem or who is a victim in any of this. Neb isn't letting kids commit and then cutting them loose if another higher target wants to come on board (ie Mich).

I'm honestly confused to why this seems to be an issue with Iowa fans. Maybe you can help clarify what the issue is?

Honest seems to be the word here. It is a football scholarship offer or it is not.

Most P5 schools don't offer 400+ players in a recruiting cycle. I know Nebraska wants to lead the nation but come on!

Iowa and many other schools have access to email, twitter, the telephone, and even the US mail. You can let recruits know you are interested through this technology from the 21st century, 20th century, 19th century and 18th century. Contact them a few times, we would like to talk to you. No you are not interested, move on. Minus email and twitter recruiting has worked that way for eighty years or so.

It is dishonest to call a football scholarship offer a football scholarship offer if it is not in fact a football scholarship offer.

He's won more than 7.5 games more than half the time and hasn't won fewer than 8 games in 5 years now. Recruting on an upswing for 4 years straight now, good depth all over the field, energetic young staff, we're in every ball game (when's the last time we got outclassed like Nebraska does several times a season?), our players don't peddle kiddie porn or get busted with weed every week like in Lincoln. There are about 100 FBS programs who'd take what we bitch about in a heartbeat.

Think something like this will EVER happen to Kirk Ferentz?

Here's a list of the teams that have been so “unfortunate” to win at least 7.5 games each season since 2015:

Alabama
Appalachian State
Boise State
Clemson
Georgia
Iowa
LSU
Memphis
Michigan
Ohio
Ohio State
Oklahoma
Stanford
Washington State
Wisconsin

A lot of the usual suspects that Iowa fans wish the Hawkeyes could be missing from this list. (Who else thinks it’s hilarious that Frank Solich’s Bobcats is on it?)
