What do you think? This will be our first Noon EST/11AM CST kickoff and add traveling to the mix. Could Iowa be a little sleepy out of the gate? We are down a LB for the first half as well. Are we ripe for an a** ripping the first two quarters?

Only down 1 LB? Niemann and Hockaday have been cleared?

IMHO, no impact. IA, over the last several years, had many 11am start times, including the 2015 undefeated regular season, 5 11am starts. Anyway, after all it doesn't start until 11:05.

I hope they start fast on the road.. Iowa is not above getting beat on the road by what we may think is an inferior opponent.. I think a fast start and Iowa takes Indiana down.. let them hang around all game and it’s anybody’s game..

I'd guess Iowa will fall behind in the game, figure things out a little bit and win the second half.

Just for fun, I looked up Iowa's recent history of Noon Eastern Time kickoff times in games played in the Eastern Time Zone.

Bottom line is that 1) They're rather rare, and 2) Iowa generally does pretty well.

2017: No such games

2016: Win @ Rutgers, Win @ Purdue

2015: No such games

2014: Win @ Pitt, Win @ Purdue, Loss @ Maryland (started up 14-0, not "sleepy")

I would think it would be smart if BF has the Hawkeyes run tempo to help make sure there is no lethargy at 11 a.m. on the road. No huddle, just get up and go. The little bit Iowa has used tempo has been effective. Using it for the first quarter or so would, IMHO, help Iowa start fast, surprise Indiana, and get the Hoosiers on their heels from the beginning, all good things.

Not concerned about a sleepy start per se, although it’s weird that game 6 is our first 11 am kick.

Overall I think Iowa has a stronger roster. Depth on defense could be challenged by Indiana’s spread offense. I think a strong start is wanted to take wind out of their sales. Indiana played Ohio State tough for 3 quarters before fading.
