Northwestern Match Thread

Bates with a shot and Abe with a go behind. Gets the TD and Bates is hurt. Looking at his knee. 5-0 Abe. Injury time. Bates is up. Assad chooses down since Bates was injured. Abe up and out. 6-0 end of 2.

Right, just like their "random" draw starting point a couple years ago that just so happened to feature Dake/Taylor as the final match of the night. How lucky was ESPN, wow?!
I don't think they tried to claim that that was a random draw

Restart. Bates to a tripod and gets out. 6-1. One minute to go. Bates shoots and Abe goes behind. 8-1. Assad lets him up. 8-2. Abe with a fake to one side and goes to the other. Gets a single leg and finishes for 2! 10-2 MD. 18-6 Hawks.

Awesome finish by Abe. I was a little worried he was gonna tru to ride him out about 40 seconds into the 3rd, but nope. Pour it on when you can.

They didn't. They are super open with the fact that they want to end with a marquee match. Tournaments do this throughout the season.
Okay so when they said the words "random draw" in reference to starting weight, they were being transparent, not open.

Glazier vs A Davison. Davison with a sweep single but Glazier with strong hips and it’s a stalemate. Glazier in a single and Davison grabs a leg. Davison works his way around and gets the TD. Glazier out quickly. 2-1.

Davison with another shot and gets the front leg. Glazier turns away and Davison gets the TD. 4-1. They go oob. Glazier is up and out. 4-2. 45 seconds to go.

Davison goes down. Right to his feet and out. 5-2 Davison. Glazier in again and Davison grabs a leg and just misses the TD. Oob. 1 minute to go in the 2nd.

Glazier getting overpowered in some positions. He has some nice skills if he can get stronger.

Glazier in again and finally finishes for 2! Restart with 14 seconds to go. Need to keep him down. Oob with 2 seconds to go. Restart. Finishes on top. 5-4 Davison and Glazier goes down.

Glazier out in about 10 seconds and it’s 5-5. Glazier chinstrap appears to be broke. Gets new headgear and they are back.

Davison in on a single and gets behind for 2. Glazier is out quickly. 7-6 Davison. 1
Minute to go.

Is Glazier from France? Don't think I have ever seen a wrestler surrender as many contested scrambles.

I cant' find anything from the actual broadcast

That's because they announced it in advance and you are wrong.

"The match is so compelling that for the first time ever, the NCAA has elected to change the order of Saturday night's finals to ensure they conclude with the 165-pound weight class. "We saw this as an opportunity to give the tournament another shot in the arm," says Dave Martin, chair of the NCAA wrestling committee and associate athletic director at Oklahoma State."
