Or sometimes you have a bad day. Or sometimes the other team gets paid to play, too. Maybe they'll battle back in this one, maybe they won't, but they are currently 14-6 in May. I'm not going to freak out.
Theo hasn't been that great at signing FA pitchers.the cubs have almost 80 million in salary coming off the books after this year, im thinking they can sign a pitcher or two.
These f*cking Reds.
Well, if Cishek could pitch worth a crap this wouldn’t have happened. They are annoying.

Cubs are 11/20 in save opportunities this season.
Unbelievable stat for a team in first place.
Theo needs to see what Craig Kimbrel is up to.

Nah, Cubs don't need a real closer. This bullpen is just fine and will be elite when Strop returns.GET A DAMNED CLOSER.
No excuse. Cishek stunk. They better have the contract already hammered out—just waiting for the draft to end to sign.
Get Kimbrel and trade for Giles.
Do it.
BTW, Cishek might be hurt.
Maddon pitches Cishek too often.Goddamn Cishek!
Single-handedly losing this game.
What the f*** is his problem?!
Boo the crap out of him.

Maybe so, but he still made horrible pitches.Maddon pitches Cishek too often.
You think Kimbrel is just sitting around eating cheeseburgers and drinking chocolate malts? That's fine. I just hope if the Cubs do get Kimbrel, that the reaction isn't just "Woo hoo! Bullpen solved!". Kimbrel will require ramp-up and I think he'll have multiple injury issues. Hopefully I'm wrong.
Question on luxury tax cap....The Cubs did not pay Addison Russell for the first 30 games and they're not paying Zobrist now. I assume that means roughly 20% of Russell's salary and whatever amount they don't pay Zobrist comes off the Cubs luxury tax cap? I guess if not, it's at least cash in pocket to put toward luxury taxes if they go over later.
The Cubs now have a three man bench. Why not 8 position players, one backup catcher, and the rest pitchers?
