That and the whole Dansby thing.Brommelkamp is a degenerate, but he might be right. It isn’t like he’s being terribly insightful. Most people think he moves off of short.

Sometimes you get beat. Taillon wasn’t terrible, but he got hit hard early and his D did him no favors (errors by Nico & Dansby in consecutive innings???). Miley is a ground ball machine and threw his game tonight. Jamo minimized the damage after the first (just a single unearned run), so he at least gave his offense a shot to come back. Team loss.Never a good sign when your starting pitcher is trending just minutes into the game.
FFS do I have to watch this @hawkifann ?
The Cubs went hitless with RISP last night, but, more incredibly, they never had any runners in scoring position. I guess that makes it easier just to write off this game as one of those unwinnable contests. Thankfully it was a Taillon start where the chance of winning was going to be low anyway and not one where the Cubs get an extremely well pitched game and still lose 1-0 or 2-1.Sometimes you get beat. The team can quit and call the season over or they can come back and grind another game against Burnes tomorrow. The Cubs were never going to go 14-0 through MIL, CIN, SF, AZ, so get back to the grind and get tomorrow.
That’s how I remember too. CM wasn’t even top 15. He really hits the ball hard.Assad wasn’t a top prospect because his stuff doesn’t wow anyone and it took him a good number of years to work his way up. He can get outs, though, as he’s showing. As for Morel, he was in the Cubs top 30 list when he got called up (I think different services had him between 17-21 in the Cubs system). It’s a good reminder that there’s not always a huge difference between #10 & #20 and you never know who is going to cash on an opportunity.
There are also some not-so-transparent reasons why guys may be lagging the prospect rankings. One factor is age. Assad isn’t old as a player, but like Steele, he got to a point where he was older than many of the guys he was playing in the minors. On the flip side, guys like PCA and others in the top 100 are often younger than the guys they’re playing against. That’s how I remember too. CM wasn’t even top 15. He really hits the ball hard.
I just wish he would wear his eye black so it didn't look like cat whiskers.Morel should be a great fielder, elite tools but his execution is poor. Love his love for the game and life. Easy to root for.
What a bizzare situation and team. What player would want to be part of that?Angels placed some interesting players on waivers today.
Sources: Giolito among 6 Angels put on waivers
The Angels placed nearly a quarter of their roster on waivers Tuesday, including starter Lucas Giolito, relievers Matt Moore, Reynaldo Lopez and Dominic Leone, and outfielders Hunter Renfroe and Randal Grichuk, sources told ESPN.www.espn.com
It's weird, but in one way for the players it's a good thing. They have a last chance to land on a playoff bound team. What a bizzare situation and team. What player would want to be part of that?
Salary dump. Not sure any the Cubs might be interested in will make it through.Angels placed some interesting players on waivers today.

Leaving a lot of ducks on the pond tonight.I swear the Brewers must have the best scouting report on how to position defensively against the Cubs. All hard hit balls are right at them.
Catch 22 to some extent. Great athlete, but not great at any one place because he never locked into one place (and he’s not a naturally good OF), but the fact that he wasn’t good at any one place allowed him to float, relying on overall athleticism and his natural cannon.Morel should be a great fielder, elite tools but his execution is poor. It’s all by overall record with the leagues mixed. Cubs are #20 in claim, but really only about 16 teams will be in play to claim these guys, so they’re effectively #7. Will be really interesting to see how this plays out.Considering every American League team comes before the Cubs...and then the contenders below us in the NL...highly doubtful any of them get through.
Is it the same with every player, or if a team selects a player, they then go to the back of the line? Or, could they conceivably pick player after player, after player? It’s all by overall record with the leagues mixed. Huge win. Being 6 games back would really hurt. Should still get a WC at the least.
