*****Official New Era Pinstripe Bowl: Boston College Eagles VS. Iowa Hawkeyes Game Thread*****

Since Norm Parker retired, we have not been good at bowl prep. He was the master. We look like we have no heart and don't want to be there because it's cold.

This is on Parker. If you're going to refuse to bring pressure and drop 7 into coverage every single time, how are their guys still wide open? Pathetic. Young backup QB and Parker is committed to making this game as easy as possible on him. So ****ing stupid.
Totally agree. If Norm were still running the show this wouldn't be happening. Anyone else notice how poorly we've played in our bowl games since he retired? Coincidence? I think not.

My biggest complaint offensively is the fact there hasn’t been more of an effort to isolate the tight ends on their linebackers. But instead trying to take the top off with a receiving corps that is missing a starter. Not to mention doing that via play action with a offensive tackle who is struggling (to put it nicely).

This offensive game plan....well without knowing the details of the Smith injury I’m hoping the game plan was already put in at the time of his injury.

Same ol, same ol. I was trying to figure out which was worse, the way Iowa was playing or the announcers. I finally settled on Iowa's play being the worst. That's saying something given how bad these announcers are. The black guy must be a BC alum the way he's calling the game. Well, from what I can tell--it's tough to make out what he's saying with all the marbles in his mouth. And then the Southern drawl guy talking about possums and moonshine. Muted it after the first quarter. That's when I realized Iowa was playing really badly.

We only scored off a penalty that shouldn’t have been called and an INT... Tell me why I shouldn’t hammer BC -1 2nd half.

OK - to start the 2nd half with Iowa down by 7 ... what happens on the KO?
Does Iowa catch it going out of bounds at the 1
Does Iowa fumble it and recover at the 8
Does Iowa get a holding call that brings back a 50 yard run and the start at the 5
Does Iowa get the ball beyond the 30
Does Iowa take it to the house
Does Iowa field the ball inside the 5 and then whilst getting tackled try some miracle forward pass

And others defend the coaches at all costs and call out anybody that questions them...it goes both ways.

I would just like everyone to stop pretending we know as much as the coaches. Which is not to say the coaches know what they are doing.

Not surprised by our offense, but that is disappointing from the d.

Yeah, but Parker is stubborn and stands by his system and that's really noble. Or something. Meanwhile not only do we refuse to bring pressure, we also are committed to leaving LBs in on passing downs who are already slower than the guys they're covering because, well, they're LBs, but running around on an icy field makes them THAT much worse in coverage. But it's what we do. So we're just going to keep doing it. Nevermind the results.

Starting from the goal line, how many total kicks would it take, for our punter to get it down the field for their kicker to make a field goal. I say 6
Are there other players on the field or not? Makes a difference in my answer.
