*****Official Temple vs. Iowa Rd. 1 game thread*****

In the words of Patches O'Hoolihan: My sweet d*ck it's magic!

Didn't get a chance to watch, but I'm glad we won.

Okay , sure, we'll need an exponentially better performance to beat Nova on Sunday....and yeah, our warts and moles are still as hairy and inflamed as they appeared to be during our season-ending skid. But hey, at least we're not Purdue and Michigan State.
Or Purdue. Loved seeing them go down.

What a sour puss Fran is during the end of half interview. What a poor representative Fran is of the University of Iowa. I know that if I was a potential recruit I would sure want to come and play for that uninspired example of a coach.

oh shut up already!!!

Whatever your axe to grind with Fran it is getting OLD!!!

Awful quiet around here for game day. Let's get this party started as Iowa looks to advance to the second round of the tourney.

Keys to the game. Simple. Make shots. At least more than Temple makes.

Lets hear it. GO HAWKS!!!!!!!

See OP, it isn't who makes the most buckets that wins! Temple made 30, Iowa 24...and we won! :)

Played one of our worst games of the year, but better to be lucky than good.
Lol this was a big improvement over the Illinois game. We only turned it over twice. We just HAVE to stop taking such lazy shots and settling for one on ones, and stick to more man to man with the goal of having help defense and taking a mf-ing charge like Gesell did...

After the first 10 minutes, pretty poor play by Iowa, with a few exceptions here and there, but here's the thing: IOWA WON. Despite it all, the Hawkeyes advance. And I understand the feeling that Iowa has no chance against Villanova, but I beg to differ. The V boys were underwhelming for 30 minutes against a pretty bad #15 seed, so I'm willing to tip it off and see what happens.

After trying so hard to give this one away and having the ball finally bounce their way at the end, MAYBE the worm has turned. MAYBE the Hawkeyes can play 40 minutes and advance. Anything is possible.

Finally, any Iowa fan has to be thrilled that Adam Woodbury, a Sioux City boy who could have gone anywhere, literally saved the Hawkeyes with a gutsy game-winning tip to win an NCAA game.

So as Tom Izzo and Matt Painter sit at home, the Hawkeyes will be going after a Sweet Sixteen berth on Sunday. Let the emotion carry over to knock off Villanova.

This win might be just what these players needed. It's almost like the players and the coach have been playing with an elephant weighing on their shoulders for the last month. Everybody is pressing and it's not just the seniors. Look at Jok at the free throw line at the end of regulation. Everybody is so worried about losing they have forgotten how to go for the win. Everybody loses, they shouldn't be afraid of it, just play. Way too much thinking. Fran definitely needs to use some timeouts to get better shots closer to the basket with Uthoff. When we start to press mentally we start to stand around and look for someone else to hit a shot. A Fran timeout, and a play call, would ease some of that tension. I think we are going to come out and play loose on Sunday.

If you do not like what I have to say then you have a choice, put me on ignore or stop reading my posts because I plan on continuing to post my opinion whether you like it or not. You got that bud!!!

If I ignored you then I couldn't call you a retard.

You're a retard.
