Omaha Biliew

Herky, seriously, just STFU. You are everything you accuse ISU fans of.

Get over it.
That is the point. On the free boards I do my best to act exactly how the isu fan base behaves in order to mock it. They are fine being douches here until it comes back at them then they get all pissy about it.

If clown fans don’t want me to mock isu and its culture then simply don’t come here and run their mouths and I will leave them alone. For example go look at the Omaha Bilew to isu thread in the Lounge and tell me how many posts I have there? Yep zero, why because I really don’t care but I do post in this thread to mock clown fans and their little brother syndrome. I also vow to continue my long standing practice of not starting any isu threads inviting their douchiness.

Not starting any ISU threads for a long time? Did you know that someone can find that information on your profile page?

The last 5 threads you started were about ISU.

They are, they just got out bid.

Okay, sure. The point is though, we absolutely know how much money ISU has available to pay players now because it's flowing through the NIL fund. And guess what, it's not that much unfortunately.

Does anyone know what blue chip offers (if any) OMAHA had? Once Iowa stopped pursuing I kind of lost track of him. For example, does he have the same sort of offers as Power?
Omaha disappeared from my radar, too. Once he bolted to try and make a bigger name for himself, meh became my thoughts on the guy....

I did look at what he did at Link Academy, and it wasn't impressive. He did not start one single game... His scoring average was only 10pp. As a HS junior 5-star...?? Something does not add up.

He got a couple of decent offers, but was never given an official visit to anyone, but Nebraska.
What are we missing here???

Total guess, but I believe Link Academy was just starting their first year. I think we all know how shady some of these so called Academy's can be academically. Was reading about one in Minnesota that promised all kinds of things to the kids and when they got there it was basically a sham. Everyone wants to be Oak Hill or Montverde or IMG now. So maybe it was kind of iffy academically if he was going to be a full qualifier and possibly some schools backed off. Which is also maybe why he's going back to Waukee. Still doesn't take anything away from where he is still rated. Again, I'm not sure he's a true 1 and done. Great athlete, helluva defender and dunker. From what I've seen his jumper and 3 pt shot needs to get better. No matter what still a great get for ISU. And our fans that are continuing to bag on them are being ridiculous. Fran would have taken him in a heartbeat.

Some players are ranked very highly due to being polished, ready to go players.

Some players are ranked very highly due to their potential. You see it all the time with the NBA draft--players drafted highly even with low production.

Omaha in particular is an elite defender now, but his offensive game needs a ton of work. He doesn't really have a reliable jump shot at all and relies heavily on his athletic ability to get to the rim. Out of his 10 ppg last year, I wonder what percentage were fast break dunks off of steals.

He'll be good for the Clones--he fits what the new coach wants to do system wise. If he were to develop a jump shot, he'd likely be a lottery pick which is why he's ranked where he's at.

Hunter played for ISU last year and transferred primarily because he wanted to get NIL money. So again, ISU isn't paying guys like you claim they are.
He transferred after he was already at ISU? Players are paid to come to schools. He may have runout of cash and decided to transfer to a school who would pay him again. OB is a 5 * player. He isn't coming to ISU without being paid.

We get out-recruited by the Cedar Rapids YMCA D League. We pretty much go after the same players. Our b-ball recruiting has been 90% shit for decades with most fans making excuses as to why we can’t consistently attract top talent. They have been just that: EXCUSES not reasons. There are ZERO reasons why a Big Ten team offers most of the kids we have over the past 30 years. We would be middle of the pack in the MAC most years.
Oh great, now we have to read sorry-ass Roy's posts.

With the recruiting as bad as it has been, Fran must be John Wooden reincarnated.

No he should not have been.
Correct, anyone who watched Keegan and Kris play in HS would never say they should have been a Top 25 recruit - probably not even Keegan and Kris at that point.

They are a great example of post-HS physical & mental growth, along with unmatched work ethic and dedication to their development, that you just don't see in many kids. The jump they made from Seniors in HS to what they have become is astronomical.

Watching them many times in HS, I - along with apparently most everyone else - could have never predicted them coming close to what they have become. That is a testament to Keegan, Kris, and family, and to a lesser extent Fran and staff.

I'm just saying, we know exactly how much money ISU has to pay recruits right now. It isn't a secret at this point. And there is zero evidence to suggest ISU can pay guys to come now, and I can't imagine there was serious dark money to pay them before. Both Campbell and TJ have talked about how we won't have the money to entice guys to come here from a pure money standpoint so we need to get the NIL fund going to entice guys that are already here, to stay. Every bit of evidence we have shows you're wrong. But continue on.

JWR,

As I said, it's been a source of amusement to me for years and I'm not asking you to stop. Although having grown up in Iowa, it does bother me how badly it might reflect on the University of Iowa. Not that all college athletic programs don't have their share of dumb@ss fans, but you are definitely the king of that hill. Please tell me you don't have a degree from Iowa!!!

Also, check my history, these are my first posts in over 5 years. Whereas you post constantly about Iowa State.

In all seriousness, please consider getting some professional help.
In all fairness to the Iowa fans, "posting about ISU". Most of us have NEVER been on whatever your site is. I honestly couldn't tell you because I've never been, and would never waste my time trying to find out what it is. We respond to the countless ISU fans who post here, "for what reason I have no idea", and yet somehow you all think that we're obsessed with you guys? Seriously? I think about ISU for a couple days before we play in football and basketball, and not for five minutes other then that, unless some clown is on here trying to make some useless post. Honestly, if ISU were to fall off our schedule after 2025 most of us wouldn't give you another thought...

You lied on cryclown fanatic saying you weren’t 515clown here. The posts above show you are lieing. I guess you are just following the lead of CyTwit and Brandon. Good for you.
Once again I have no clue what you are referring to.

I'm not so sure he's one and done. Recruiting rankings have him somewhere between 10 and 20. Players in that range for the 2021 class went middle of the 1st to staying in school. Most entered the draft but there is a wide range of outcomes still. He certainly has potential to work his way into the first round but his offensive game needs a ton of work. He'll fit in great with Iowa State's defensive system. However, I question whether Iowa State is the best place to develop an offensive skillset.

It's for sure not.

Probably is top five right now, but more likely top 10 to 15 after the rest of the highest ranked recruits around the country commit.
OK, so I was wrong and can admit it. Looks like recent rankings have them at #6 or #7. Whoever said "not near a top 5 class" was really wrong. As with most recruiting, will have to see how it pans out on the court.

Top 5 you can read right? 5 of the top 23 aren’t even committed yet.

#6 is pretty close to the top 5 lol. I'm not sure how it shakes out and ISU can still drop. At least 1 uncommitted kid will likely end up at Kentucky and that should just flip flop them and Duke so nothing under the top 2 should move. Momcilovic could still work his way up the rankings as well and could push ISU up a bit as well. But a guy like Jelani Hamilton could drop as well considering he is the lowest ranked 4 star "at least in the 247 composite" so anything could happen. Won't know till it's officially all said and done.

It's also just not the end all be all anymore with the transfer portal. Who you get in the portal is just as important as signing day if not more.

ISU Men's and Women's basketball just signed the two best classes in the history of each program and... it's basically crickets when it comes to discussion and fan reaction.

Crickets??

There’s plenty of praise for the coaching staffs at Iowa State concerning this signing class on the Iowa State message board.

The transfer portal has changed the way coaches fill their rosters, but for developmental programs like Iowa and Iowa State, incoming freshmen are a key foundation for the team.

Clowns will end up just like they always have. It wasn’t that long ago that clown fans were here telling us how awesome Steve Prohm was and then 2-22. But of course we need to ignore that because clown fans say so.

Is that all you’ve got? LOL

Well, at least we advance in post-season play once in awhile….

and ignore 2-22. The thing is reality and clown fans view of it never really match up. It is why you are seen as clowns and not taken seriously.

No one ignored it...they bitched and complained and Prohm got fired...then they went back to the Sweet 16.

Meanwhile, Jeff, your fat ass continues to say ISU doesn't matter while you post about them 1,000s of times.

What ever you say legend.

So we’re clown fans right about Prohm when they were “bitching” or were they right when he was awesome? Always so hard to tell what reality is with isu and clown fans. Thank god we have you here to set us all straight.
