Prohm did some great stuff early in his career at ISU then the wheels fell off. It happens. It doesn't have to be black and white.
ISU is going to be very good for a long time. Their head coach can recruit like hell and coach. Additionally he loves ISU and is there for a very long time

What many here do not understand about recruiting is that sure, success and now NIL have a big say in landing a player. But it is also about fit into a roster and system that a coach assembles and runs. And then number one, the relationship that the program has with the player’s mentors and prep halo. This has not diminished even with all the recent changes in recruiting.
So, some recruiting losses have zero bearing on what a program did or did not do. Case in point, Arizona just lost out to an in state, five star recruit to Colorado…. its insane, but sometimes certain things don’t line up for recruits at the better program. What is important is having your coach keep building a culture, an identity, and to keep winning games.
Being a historically relevant program then having two coach hires take you to being one of the worst P5 basketball programs, to shortly (relatively) having the best players in college ball and top draft picks is a long process. It will take time to let results overcome all the negative recruiting and established relationship in recruiting circles to change. Stay with it guys, it will pay off.
Omaha does not have the best name in Iowa State's opening game vs Green Bay tonight. That honor goes the the GB coach ... Sundance Wicks. It is 49 - 18 ISU at half. GB was 3-29 last year.

Was certainly named Iowa Mr. Basketball as the best high school player in the state. Will see if that makes him the best basketball player at the college level. Recruiting rankings and US team representation went towards Omaha. I think Pryce is certainly more skilled at this point offensively, but probably doesn't have the athleticism tools Omaha brings to defense. I think it will be a fun year to watch college basketball in the state of Iowa this year, especially with this homegrown talent to watch.
Biliew blew last night. 4 pts ,1 Reb, 1 TO, fouled out in 13 minutes of play. Sounds like a super star.
I've heard all offseason that he was pretty far behind in his development from ISU fans. He's a classic example of a guy who is ranked so high based off of potential and athleticism. I'm guessing that he won't be seeing the court much if that's the stat-line he is putting up against sub-350 ranked KenPom teams.
This might be a hot take, but I'm not sure if it even matters what he does on the court this year--the NBA will still see a guy with freakish abilities and someone that they think they could mold into a player. He could sit out the entire year and still probably be a late first or early 2nd.
