I get that. I can get over the commentators. My thing is the on-screen scoring graphics being riddled with errors, then being taken down completely to be corrected, then back up, and then more errors. If this were on some free, over-the-air college channel, no problem. But BTN+ is something we're paying for, I'd like accurate information on the screen when I'm watching.

They are charging a subscription fee for this service? Maybe it is just enough dough to cover the video part.

I get that. I can get over the commentators. I think it’s also annoying that BIG+ has been around for several years now and they have done almost nothing to improve the product

I don't think expecting accurate names and scores on the screen is asking too much.

Listen to Ironside and Grace on the Hawk app or I Heart. Then pause the video to sync up with the radio.

At least they got a reality check out of the way right off the bat. This is a very average team compared to a number of the more recent teams. There are going to be a few struggles this year. The poor recruiting is very evident, we only had recruited athletes at 4 weights with transfers at 6. Woods is the only legit title contender in the lineup.

Dude that’s the point, this essentially IS their class. For what it is, they were fine.

I guess its hard for me to wrap my mind around. When I was in college I did everything I could to research and learn prior to me going on field experiences so I didn’t look completely clueless to others. Like, I have no idea about Backgammon, but if I was going live broadcasting it, I’d damn sure learn the basics and the rules before hand.

Point taken though. Carry on everyone!

It was really cool to see the Hawkeye faithful welcome him they way that did. That place is the Coliseum, if you don't perform.....woe to thee. Back to laboratory. Plenty to work on. But I'll keep my coaching critiques to myself. . .

There may be work to be done but that’s for tomorrow, enjoy the moment with him. That 1st win only comes one time and for so many it never happens.

The takedown was a thing of beauty. Powerful finish on it and probably the only way to get a defensive wrestler like Whittlake down. I think the Bull used the same powerful double leg to beat him, if I remember correctly.

B10+ commentators are subpar...ugh. The main guy is OK; the other guy is weak!

These Big announcers suck

These B10+ commentators don't even know what a Dec, MD, or TF are. Well, at least the one guy doesn't. Very subpar!!

Another one!! Yes!! FWIW, this second commentator has never attended a wrestling meet, match, dual, tournament, etc. Hope he never comes back again!!

I thought I read Marinelli was going to be the announcer on the broadcast. Apparently, that didn't pan out.

Had 58.something seconds on the scoreboard for riding time. Took him a little while to get out in the 2nd. Great match though.

Perhaps no one has told you this but we recently had 2 all Americans and a multiple time NCAA qualifier suspended for the season. That just might be a factor in the strength of the team.

This is true, but I've seen even the pros be obviously out of their element with certain sports, wrestling foremost of those. I didn't hear the broadcast Sunday, but I doubt they were as bad as some of the Student-U broadcasts I've heard on BTN+. The Nebraska one several years ago with the "Illegal fist to the back" was a classic. That said, I would hope Iowa would be one of the better ones.
