Isn’t this 20 in a row for Iowa and 50 of the last 52? I mean it’s hardly limited to Dresser at this point.

The only reason I made that post was in response to that idiotic "blowing a kiss" to the Hawk coaches stunt after he lost.

I'm not attempting to argue any specifics with you because I wasn't there, but I've watched Iowa vs ISU in the past in both Ames and IC.
I realize it's probably the most intense matchup in all of college wrestling.
So I can easily believe anything I hear and I'm not naive enough to think it wasn't pretty heated.
Notice that I'm not questioning your account.

The difference is Iowa State cries about everything. They whine to security in Carver to try keeping fans quiet. Iowa was approached by security in Oregon State asking if they needed to take care of some of the louder fans in their student section. The Iowa representative just laughed and said no it's our job to quiet them on the mat, and besides they are just doing their job. Total different approach. Tell your clown fans to quit whining about everything.

I thought he was pretty humble in his post presser. He had a lot of good things to say about the Hawks as well as his own wrestlers and the rivalry. It was certainly a lot different than the Hawks are chicky poo comment he made early on with the Clones.

Have you ever met a lady that was kinda pregnant? Never, because they don't exist. Parent or not a parent, I support this team and ALL it's wrestlers. Not sometime but all the time. Sure, I would have loved to see Gabe wrestle, but there were parents last year that sat in the same boat as we did this year, I wonder how they felt? How they'd respond? But what's cooler than that? There were parents this year who got to sit in the same boat we did last year. And that feeling is one worth sharing. After Angelo's match his dad was a couple rows back, I went up and we slapped hands. He had the same look of pride that I did last year, "That's MY kid making his mark!" As a parent, if you're not willing to share that experience, there is something really wrong with you.

As a coach, those moves Tom made Saturday were BRILLIANT! I'm sure the ISU wrestlers were training specifically for Nelson and Gabe. Both of them have unique styles are are hard eggs to crack. Watching their 184 warm up, you saw a bit of confidence in his swagger. He was ready for Gabe Arnold. Then........

This night now resides in the history books of this storied rivalry. Two years in a row, two true freshmen, took out 2 super seniors at the same weight class, in the exact same dual and helped keep a 20 year perfect record intact. That's pretty freaking awesome if you ask me.

Don’t know if you remember but I met you at my home town dollar store we have a pretty good tattoo place as well. Just saying that I am super impressed with you and your son. I had a D1 softball player and definitely understand what you are saying. She didn’t start at first and some of the other parents wondered why I traveled so much. I said she is part of the team and I support the team. After about 1/4 of the season she earned a starting spot and never looked back.

I remember it like it was yesterday. Always wondered if we'd catch up again. My wife still talks about us meeting. It still blows her mind how many people follow wrestling here, and how many people know who her kid is. . . . . She still doesn't get it..... IT'S IOWA and that's what we do. But you're spot on with your daughter. Even though wrestling is an individual sport, it still has to be about the team!!!
