Takatani looked great there. Seems like Japan has really been on the upswing in freestyle internationally, going back to that first World Cup bronze medal at Carver. It’s what Carver Cones do for a nation, I guess.

that scoring was jacked up. the last two exchanges that led from Dake being down 9-8 to 20-12 were crazy to me. Takatani got an extra 4 points that i didn’t even think were a question and another 2 that was 50/50. takatani wrestled a great match and might have still won but man that was hard to stomach.
One of the odds makers I saw had Dake at -750, which is like you said, a lock. Can't believe this upset!!

I didn’t understand the 2 and 2 calls on Dake lifts from his TD counters. It happened 3 times or so
