Possible receivers for Iowa

I never said it was. As a Hawkeye fan, I would be somewhat hesitant to proclaim a great recruiting victory, particularly at the QB and WR positions, to a high school kid who likely has never owned a winter coat! However, it appears Nebby fans are quite ecstatic over this.

Looks like teams from the NFC North and AFC North should never draft players from the SEC, right?

Seriously though saltsdogg, congrats on all of those players having "interest" in Nebraska. You forgot to mention you'll actually get only none or one of them. It's a start though, you've got to compete with Iowa somehow.

Last time I checked, Nebraska still had a winning record against Iowa.

Only 3-2 since joining the conference with all of that superior talent. Real impressive
You're the one that said that Nebraska had to find someway to compete, a winning record would indicate they are doing that just fine.

Yes, solely because of what they're doing in recruiting. We all know the coaching is god awful

Not much of a difference in win percentages between Riley at Oregon State and Ferentz at Iowa. With how great Iowa is, you would think the difference would be more dramatic.

The season is over in november, way before winter...this isn't the nfl where they'd be playing in the middle of winter. Yes black friday was a cold one, but that's not typical november weather.

Serious question for Husker fans here (I would like to ask this on Nebby site, but unfortunately I'm still banned). Anyway, my question/comment involves Nebraska's recruiting of skill position players from California (I see you recently got a QB from there) - do you have any qualms with a California kid playing in late season games in bitterly cold B10 stadiums?

I am not too concerned. He will have a couple years to get used to the weather before he sees the field. And there are countless QBs that are from warm weather states that learn to play in the cold. If he ever wants to play in the NFL, he had better get used to it.

Absolutely not, no.

The #1 quarterback in the state of California and a Top 100 player just committed and you would be hesitant to proclaim a recruiting victory as an Iowa fan? Wow.

Do you think Tommie Frazier ever owned a winter coat coming out of Florida? Never seen snow or ice in his life. Comes to the middle of the country and becomes a 3x National Championship game MVP. Many guys from the coast have come to Nebraska and kicked ass in the cold.

And there are other reasons Nebraska fans are quite ecstatic over this, besides the kid being talented....he's also best friends with 5* Darnay Holmes (who has visited Neb 6 times already). These guys are big names on the West Coast (so was Patrick O'Brien on the WC 7 on 7 circuit, last year). Don't think you understand the added attention this is bringing to recruiting. Example: 5* Wyatt Davis immediately noticed Gebbia committed and was instantly talking about Neb on twitter...same with a dozen other high profile targets.

Mabin who will be a 5th year SR is from Florida, Eno is from TX who hopefully chooses IA, WR Falconer is from Florida, the few IA gets from Florida don't have a problem adjusting to IA's winters,

the wintrs are not like they were years ago when the snow came at the beginning of November and didn't stop till April. now we are lucky to see snow by Christmas and the last Snow Storm strikes in time for the Girls State BB tournament with temps starting to break 50 in March. getting a WR or any player from California is not a stretch by any imagination.

IA had the top DE visit 7 time and lived in Minnesota yet he picked O$U and he was 5*. Bragging about recruiting 5* player is fun but it means nothing if they don't commit,

IA is recruiting the #1 LB in TX and he is good friends with Eno. will IA get him probably not but its nice to talk about, or in your case BRAG.

The old B1G was a hell of a lot tougher than the Pac-10. No comparison.

It's not bragging dude; stop being so insecure. Think what you want about recruiting, I seriously don't care. What we talk about on a message board means nothing and we have no control over any of it. All I said was that an added benefit of getting the #1 QB in CA is that he's best friends with a 5* (so are Neb commits Keyshawn Jr and Marquel Dismuke) who has visited 5+ times.

Stop comparing Iowa recruiting to Nebraska recruiting. You are choosing to do that, not me. It's apples to oranges. An Iowa fan above asked a question about NEB recruiting and I answered, objectively.

I wouldn't waste your breathe trying to talk to the resident idiot. He would find far fetched stats to argue Iowa State has had better recruits than Iowa if he really wanted to do it.

And only thing you have for smack talk is grammer advise? Thanks for the help bro, ill go back to college and finish it this time, get up to Iowas standards.

Now this made me laugh out loud. Someone from Nebraska going back and getting their degree. That's rich.

Riley should get you guys 7 wins this year. Things are bright.

So, the rose bowl notwithstanding, Iowa has a great year and is in the playoff hunt right to the end.

Disappointing recruiting payoff if this is the receiver crop they are looking at.

Do I expect Iowa to get 5 star guys? Nope.

But it would be nice to have some serious power 5 recruit candidates that are getting offers from at least middle of the pack schools. Rather than continuing to fight mac schools like akron and buffalo for recruits.

I don't know if Iowa will land these two-Bell/Robertson...but both have offers you are asking for...Bell will be visiting soon and Robertson cut his list to 6, and the Hawks made the initial cut...Again, I have no idea how legit of a shot the Hawks have, but if they land either of the two...they would fit the bill of what you want to have happen.

There's a chance with Robertson if ND fills up before he commits. I learned today that he isn't a take for Wisky. The door could be open to get him over PSU or Illinois if ND falls through.

Little update...Isaiah Robertson is currently scheduled to visit IC on the 23rd of this month...Currently rated as a 4 star wr prospect from the same city as 2016 signee, Manny Rugamba..
