if we get proctor and brooks and a brilliant oc who brings along a genius assistant (for WRs) and a top of the line mercenary WR commits, i'm thinking next season will more kickass than if none of these things happen.

The good news for me is that with the college semester already started, Proctor will need to make a decision pretty quickly. While I hope he chooses Iowa, I’m glad any decision is quick rather than speculation for months and months.
The only thing Iowa has to offer Procter is home,.. If he's looking for significantly more than that he's going elsewhere.
How many guys are playing in the NFL this weekend? I'll give you a hint, it's the 2nd most of any other college in the country. So to say "it's only home" is kind of an ignorant statement. Iowa puts guys in the NFL, and they are prepared and successful. Most kids that come to Iowa can't believe how hard the practices are. But this prepares them for the future. Sure it's not a bag full of money, but it's led to some nice long term pay days for many guys.

Barring injury Procter is going to get a shot at the NFL no matter where he goes, so it's only home,.. Good thing is that nobody else can offer that...
But he will be better prepared, better coached, and more successful if he chooses a place like Iowa as opposed to many other schools. History shows that to be true. It's not only home.
Also, what team has one of the lowest transfer rates in the country this year. Hint: It's Iowa. Maybe you hate Iowa, but the players sure seems to enjoy playing here, and many of them have success at the next level. If you want to be bitter, that's fine, but there are reasons good players choose Iowa.
Obviously this mean Proctor is coming.....or maybe it means he's our new QB coach.....or maybe our new OC....... or whatever else we want to speculate because it's the offseason, it's snowing and we are all crazy.
I'm saying that his caveat at the end misses the point - people perceived that it was a bunch of sour grapes and trash talk from Iowa fans, because it's the vocal ones that show up on your radar. It isn't the upset fan who keeps it to himself.
He can get that same coaching at many other schools. He's going to be playing in the NFL, that's a given. He started for Alabama as a true freshman, he's already good, and will only get better.

Probably has something to do with what happened with him just 13 months ago. He’s a tremendously talented prospect/player but I’m in the camp of not being excited about him until I see him play in an Iowa uniform.
Hope we have some guys paying attention to the freezer sections.
