Saint Peter's appreciation thread

The NCAAS are a crapshoot. So much parity. Great for college basketball, not so great for the Big Ten.
I think you might’ve been one of the people arguing with me all season long about the B1G & Iowa being weak.

If I’m wrong I apologize, if I’m correct please don’t make excuses for the B1G now!

I think you have the wrong person. I don’t recall discussing with anyone the strength of the Big this year. I think the proof is in the pudding, based upon the NCAA performance the past two years.

Nothing short of amazing. St. Peter started 3-6 with losses to VCU, St.Johns, Providence, Siena, St. Francis and Stoney Brook. Now with consecutive wins against Kentucky, Murray State and Purdue. Would love to see it continue against North Carolina but I have a feeling this will be a North Carolina rout.

This is like Loras making the Elite Eight....cool story.
How can Butch Lee's son be this good and be unranked as a prep?
Where was Marquette?

Jesus dude if i wanted to read twitter on every subject I would.

its funny, I dont think Iowa is viewed as such a flop in the tourney, but more we just are not in the conversation or the 'opportunity cost' of us NEVER being in the limelight for say the Elite 8 or Final 4 (Yeah, even the S16 would be a start). Its hard to break through the clutter, even with individual success with guys like Garza and Keegan. Ugh.

Defense wins in ncaa tourney we have great individual players but you have to play defense to keep on playing

The evidence of defense being important to ncaa success keeps piling up. In the early rounds you see some other teams that kind of look like Iowa in their roster makeup, but by Sweet16 they all are a lot more athletic and they don't play weak links on defense---even if they are small, they are uber athletes.

Iowa last year with Garza, Illinois twice now with Cockburn. and Seeing Purdue with its Giants get beaten by St. Peters makes it obvious that building a team around a True Big is loser ball in NCAA.
