So what are everyone’s thoughts on this Angel Reese-Caitlyn Clark dustup?

CNN —
LSU star Angel Reese says that neither she, nor her team, would be visiting the White House after the Tigers defeated the Iowa Hawkeyes 102-85 to win their first basketball national championship.

Traditionally, the national champions would be invited to the White House. But after comments from first lady Jill Biden suggesting that Iowa be invited as well before appearing to walk that back, Reese told “I AM ATHLETE” podcast hosts Brandon Marshall and Ashley Nicole Moss: “I don’t accept the apology because you said what you said … You can’t go back on certain things that you say … They can have that spotlight. We’ll go to the Obamas.’ We’ll go see Michelle. We’ll see Barack.”

Reese, who was named the women’s NCAA tournament’s Most Outstanding Player as a result of her standout performances, also said separately: “I just know if the roles were reversed, they wouldn’t be the same. If we were to lose, we would not be getting invited to the White House.”

Media needs to quit giving her a microphone if for nothing else than her own good.

She's going full idiot right now...you never go full idiot.

She has nearly doubled her Instagram following this week and that translates into increased “Bayou Barbie” merchandise sales.

She’s contemptible, but she’s not an idiot.

Yeah I'm sure the whole outrage online is because they didn't call a tech with 2 seconds left in a game that was already decided.
Well, I was just clarifying on your 'bit excessive' comment, but...............

However, if you'd like to rehash why this turned into a national story, I got time. I already explained how this was something building since Caitlin's freshman year, and how people just weren't ready to hear it back then.

But yes, there were Iowa fans right after the game, and as it was happening, asking why her taunting Clark wasn't a technical and why Mulkey grabbing a ref wasn't a technical.

But that angle slowly went away as Angel Reese decided to double down on the attention seeking and bring race into it, hoping or even knowing people would blindly protect her as evidence of just ONE Twitter post has proven.

All those comments.....they aren't isolated. People are blaming...BLAMING....Caitlin Clark for this Angel Reese story growing into what it was and lasting as long as it has.

I just wanted to know why people are defending Reese over something that would've been a technical foul under any other circumstance in a basketball game, AND.....with any other officiating crew.............that's all. :)

She’s racist as ****. It’s just a fact at this point. Also massively craves attention. Her Twitter feed is massively cringe. It is what it is.

So from the second video, she didn't want Jill Biden to visit the locker room before the game because Joe Biden picked another team in his bracket?

She sounds like a toddler.

Hey, some people need a lack of sportsmanship to help them perform at their best in sports. It worked for LSU, which is highly unfortunate (in retrospect with how everything has unfolded).

Of course, on the flipside, it would be hypocritical of either fanbase to truly get upset about anything one team or the other does because "sportsmanship has no place in sports", amirite?..................... :)

I can think of better ways to approach it but to each their own I guess. I’m not her friends, family, or acquaintances and don’t have to anywhere near her (thankfully)…so it really doesn’t matter to me.

I think the take home message from all this is that the majority of the media are not even presenting facts when discussing this issue.

They are simply comparing 2 photos with their hands up.

I suppose we should expect this, but this is also what is causing our society to become more and more divided.

When we are all working with different "facts" then you cant even have a discussion.

For the record, I think Angel is as racist as they come. I don't think it is good for anyone to support racist behavior, but that's not how we operate in today's America.

1. The story is/was a perfect storm for certain groups of people to spread their bs.

2.People blaming Caitlin for the story blowing up are idiots. But there will be a group of people that have an idiotic take most of the time regardless of the story.

3. 99% of the time I don't think taunting/trash talking should result in a tech/penalty which is why I'm not bothered by what Reese did.

4. I have no idea how Mulkey didn't receive a warning for being on the court as much as she was and she should have absolutely been T'd up for touching an official.

There we go again, equating financial success with intelligence.

I wonder how her white as snow, coach feels about having a racist on her team?
