You don't think he's #75?You are incredibly bad at this
He certainly is not better than half that list.
You don't think he's #75?You are incredibly bad at this
It's why I've posted game efficiency numbers for you: so you don't keep focusing on one or two individual stats. Not in assists/turnovers.
Fairly sizeable shift.....from #75 to 1/2 the list. Way to stand strong on your position. You don't think he's #75?
He certainly is not better than half that list.
What is the next "goalpost shift" for you and your buds. Let's recap:It’s good to see the streak of you being wrong continue.
No; I think he's at the bottom end. I simply stated there are easily half the players who are better.Fairly sizeable shift.....from #75 to 1/2 the list.
I don't need to read your posts.
Go complain to Nate Silver. It's his website that posted the value of steals. Probably because they alter the play of the offense after getting the ball taken.Probably using that magical 9.1 point steal value that you linked
Can you share what you consider to be 'a month'?I posted them, too. Along w/ the Final Four dates
This year there was about 1 month LESS TIME between them than the past 5-6 Olympics.
"Not unlike early -season CC, who turned the ball over time and time again"It's why I've posted game efficiency numbers for you: so you don't keep focusing on one or two individual stats.
The next time Nate Silver posts his information trying to support his position I will. Until then the person(Joe) who feebly attempted to inject the magical 9.1 point steal from a decade old article about a different league will need to be called out on it. FYI Nate had a graph that supported the 9.1 point steal. Nice theory about graphs not lying.Go complain to Nate Silver. It's his website that posted the value of steals. So you’re suggesting that CC should have skipped the Final 4 with her college teammates to try out for the Olympic team?Sure, she could
She just chose to play w/ her Iowa teammates in the Final Four
And, as has already been pointed out to you very early in the thread - this year there was about 1 month less between the FF weekend and Olympics than in prior years. Ergo, in past years, FF would have been 2-3 weeks sooner relative to Olympic team cutoffs.
But, by all means, keep pushing your "conspiracy" nonsense.
IIRC, my post indicated "3-4 weeks"Can you share what you consider to be 'a month'?
NoSo you’re suggesting that CC should have skipped the Final 4 with her college teammates to try out for the Olympic team?
Responding to folks like YOU, who kept parroting a couple stats."Not unlike early -season CC, who turned the ball over time and time again"
Joe focusing on one or two individual stats.
The next time Nate Silver posts his information trying to support his position I will.
2021 was a year after a Final Four that never happened because it was canceled due to COVID. But here's the thing you might not know - there was a Final Four in 2021. The semifinals were on April 2 and the championship game was on April 4.IIRC, my post indicated "3-4 weeks"
And 2021 was a year.
Pro tip for JoeResponding to folks like YOU, who kept parroting a couple stats.
Ignoring crappy shooting percentages that dragged her efficiency down.
Kind of like the All-Star game, where she went 1-7 from 3 pt range. Playing against (and with) players who all could have been on the Olympic team. Only, she was not the star that day (at all). Future years, she probably will be. Not her rookie year.
Counter arguments to the magical “9.1 point steal’?Ergo "I won't bother reading something posted on his site, because it destroys my arguments here"
You cannot provide counter-arguments, only more nonsense.
I posted the numbers for you pages ago.2021 was a year after a Final Four that never happened because it was canceled due to COVID. But here's the thing you might not know - there was a Final Four in 2021. The semifinals were on April 2 and the championship game was on April 4.
USA Basketball officially announced the Olympic roster 78 days later, on June 21. You can read all about it here.
I'm just playing your "one or two" stat game.Pro tip for Joe
Don’t focus on one or two stats.
I’m not going to sift through multiple pages to find your blatant lie. Link it so I can mock it.I posted the numbers for you pages ago.
Go re-read that post if you are confused here.
It's a professional basketball stat. You posted a bad link to a decade old story on a different league.
Now we are on ROY? Keep flipping around JoecrisyI'm just playing your "one or two" stat game.
I've posted the comprehensive stuff, and you've got no answer for that.
And it's a conundrum for you, because those numbers also clearly put CC a few steps ahead of Reese (or anyone else) for ROY.
You're stuck with accepting that metric, which supports the position you "like" but undermines the position you "don't like".
Looked for the 9.1 point steal stat. It's a professional basketball stat.
Now, you're flailing around because that doesn't support your singular focus on "assists records" that CC has.
So you are able to look things up.Since you forgot (even though you responded to the post):
I wonder if @TJ8869 and his buddies are aware of the NCAAW Final Four and Olympic schedules over the past 20 years...2024: almost the latest NCAAW FF dates (by one day) of the past 20 years (April 5-7, 2024; latest was April 6-8 2008).2024: almost the earliest start to summer Olympics of the past 20 years (July 26, 2024, earliest was July 23, 2020)In the years a WNBA "rookie" made the teams (and they may have gone to the tryouts those years), there were 129 or 122 days between the Final Four and the beginning of the Olympics (2004, 2008, 2016). Every one of those years, Olympics opening day was 1-2 weeks into August)In 2024, that was 110 days, or 2-3 weeks less to schedule tryouts and still get the team together.
So one time there was 19 more days and two times there were 12 more days.Since you forgot (even though you responded to the post):

I just read an article, and do you suppose CC's start to the season had anything to do with the good teams and defenses she faced? Did your stats take that into consideration?I'm just playing your "one or two" stat game.

I just googled and in 2004 the Olympic "tryouts" were in Colorado Springs from February 19-27. Diana Taurasi was on that team as a rookie. Do we actually believe she attended that tryout? Be serious. There is zero chance Geno Auriemma was allowing her to leave the team for 8 days during the season.Since you forgot (even though you responded to the post):

I am responsible as well. I suffer fools poorly and Joe has been quite the fool in this thread.Every time we try to move on and discuss a current game, Joes Place comes in out of nowhere with multiple posts in a row and derails things.
There were other tryout camps besides that one. The third and final one was in April. Taurasi and two other prospects were invited to the final training camp at the Colorado Springs facility. So two days after playing her final game for UConn she went to Colorado and participated in the camp and played in several exhibition games. Then on May 12 she was selected to the Olympic roster.I just googled and in 2004 the Olympic "tryouts" were in Colorado Springs from February 19-27. Diana Taurasi was on that team as a rookie. ‘The 6-foot guard had a tryout with the team last month, two days after UConn beat Tennessee in the national-championship game. After just one practice, Taurasi had 13 points, four rebounds, four assists and two blocks in an exhibition game against Japan.’There were other tryout camps besides that one. I think they will. People who are invested are invested. Yesterday, the local early morning sports talk show here in DSM had more people calling in to talk about her and the Fever than the results of the Iowa and Iowa State games. Will be interesting to see how ratings for the Olympic snub hold up during NFL season
I think they will as well. This team is a lot of fun to watch. They were absolutely brutal to watch in May, and if they were still playing like that then I think a lot of people would have moved on by now. But they have figured things out. They are playing an exciting brand of basketball and they clearly are having a lot of fun in the process.I think they will. People who are invested are invested. Wasn’t a Mitchell fan early in the year but the combo is really starting to work. I think she has realized that if she is open she will get the ball and that CC being on the floor takes a .5 defender away from her and gets her better/easier looks. Winning makes everything look fun but they seem to be getting comfortable with each other and having more fun. Also benching 33 was a good move. She wasn’t contributing much. Jury is still out on the coach.I think they will as well. This team is a lot of fun to watch.
