Enjoying, not worshippingIf we go to the @ClarindaA's sex thread it appears we all should be worshiping vagina.
And 50 years from now that thousand dollars, assuming an annual return of 10% would be a tad over $100k.Sure...just use an index fund. Its not rocket science. I would just stick in a SPDR and leave it there.
Had it, overrated, but still niceTwo vaginas!
It's a fair point, though. Twitter would not exist without many government funded initiatives like the internet and satellites. It is a platform built on government technologies. It's also fair to point out that Musk didn't build Twitter. He simply bought it after it was a massively successful enterprise.
So I'm struggling to see how this is proof that Musk is a real life Tony Stark. Because what I see is a guy who buys existing technologies and rebrands them.
And 50 years from now that thousand dollars, assuming an annual return of 10% would be a tad over $100k.
You’re not going to get to a million dollars that way until 2095.
You’ll need to hire some rocket scientists or something to do it faster.
Not sure what your point is. Musk is where he is because of his father's emerald mine. He wasnt broke on the streets with $1,000 to his name
I don't know. This comes across as major Iron Man hero worship to me.I don't think political leaders like people who have the capacity to transcend government. I think why many like Elon is bc he is proving out that central govts are not all that necessary for humanity to achieve major history changing accomplishments.
Personally if getting rid of strong central govts meant we also were able to get rid of some of you lunatics on the left and right it would be a really good thing for society.
His point is that you would have failed if in the same situation in comparison to what Elon did.
He is also right. Which in turn makes your opinion near worthless.
You aren't doing a very good job dissuading me from thinking that you perceive Musk as some sort of god like person with posts like these. His point is that you would have failed if in the same situation in comparison to what Elon did.
He is also right. Which in turn makes your opinion near worthless.
How do you know that? What makes Elon so special?
Opinions are worth nothing anyway. Certainly, the opinion of an egotistical bloated know it all, who says he is above it all, isnt worth more than anyone elses.
LOLOLOLOL...how do I know that??? Because you have been political bitching on HROT for a decade.
Your post isn't serious.
The ability to create wealth is special. How do you know that? What makes Elon so special?
You aren't doing a very good job dissuading me from thinking that you perceive Musk as some sort of god like person with posts like these.
Reusable spaceship is the biggie. Also what has Musk done that is a historical game changer?
What do you think HROT is genius? Were you expecting me to write you a treatise on the light spectrum from ultra-violet to Infra-red?
Musk was worth what? Around $20-30 billion pre pandemic? Then it ballooned to $340 billion in 2021. And now it's around $250 billion. That comes across as bubble behavior. The ability to create wealth is special.
The ability to create wealth is special.
We've had reusable rockets since the 1960s.Reusable spaceship is the biggie.
Imagine if cars, boats and planes were single use.
Via stock inflation? There is nothing tangible in relation to the market caps. A car company with a tiny share that has a market cap like that?
Its all pure speculation. Its like Jim Fisk and the Gold Crisis.
This place has missed you. Welcome back!Via stock inflation? There is nothing tangible in relation to the market caps. A car company with a tiny share that has a market cap like that?

You called him transcendent. You said his accomplishments were history changing. That isn't god worship?Musk isn't god like for any of us who are not ultra political however we can see things you can't.
Musk has gone from a green tech person beloved by the left, to a counter culture icon of the apes, to a person hated by those who initially loved him. On the flip he was a person hated by the right who were anti green, to a counter culture icon of the apes, to a person who is beloved by those who initially hated him.
Why? Because two segments our populace, the crazy left and right, thought he was against and then for them, or for them and then against. It is moronically sad. He is uber rich, he has been very successful, he bought twitter, that doesn't mean his motives are bad just bc they don't align 100% with some stupid political following.
Have you been shorting Tesla all the way down since you have the game figured out?
You called him transcendent. You said his accomplishments were history changing. That isn't god worship?
Yes, printing money made the rich richer.Musk was worth what? Around $20-30 billion pre pandemic? Then it ballooned to $340 billion in 2021. And now it's around $250 billion. That comes across as bubble behavior.
He made the electric car on a mass scale a possibility.
He introduced reusable rockets that could deliver payloads to space.
He landed those rockets on a platform in the water.
Everyone loved him!
He hinted at buying Twitter...
Politicians started attacking him
Why....because they can't control him like they can control you. That's transcendent and it makes govt officials very nervous as he is willing to call out bad political actors and bad ideas. Again, they have no means to control someone like this and they don't know how to act/react. They throw out some red meat and the minions slurp it up.
All of those were existing technologies before Musk. He didn't create Tesla. He bought it. He didn't invent space travel. He repackaged it. We sent people to the moon over 50 years ago. We've had reusable rockets for that same time. We're really going to stroke him off for getting payloads to space when we've been doing that for half a century? He made the electric car on a mass scale a possibility.

He is a phone, and nothing you say will change my mind.So one half of the political parties shall talk him down, call him racist, call him a phone. All while the other party starts supporting the guy that has been one of the biggest players in the green technology transformation.
It is so predictively stupid of our current political environment. So many adults acting like children, we have failed our kids.
Was NASA using reusable rockets? All of those were existing technologies before Musk. He didn't create Tesla. He bought it. He didn't invent space travel. He repackaged it. Can you not make the distinction between the (fictional) person and the (fictional) alter ego? The (fictional) company responsible for producing arms was Stark Industries, not Iron Man industries. Iron Man didn’t develop/design weapons, Tony did (and his father before). Weapons were being produced and sold before there was ever an Iron Man. Tony Stark, post Iron Man inception, actually attempts to stop the sale of (his) weapons.I owned precisely zero comic books as a kid, have only see a few of the Marvel movies, so if there is a deeper distinction you’re trying to make here it will take more effort.
If Tony Stark wasn’t Iron Man, who was?
They have surgeries for that nowHad it, overrated, but still nice

As a plot device, I suppose, but in (fictional) reality Iron Man is Tony Stark. That's why your response initially made no sense, and going back I realize you're not even the OP I responded to.Can you not make the distinction between the (fictional) person and the (fictional) alter ego?

NASA was not. And neither is Space X. They discard the first stages of the rocket system after launch. Was NASA using reusable rockets?
😂 . Might want to rethink this one. Or should I inquire what your definition of “spaceship” or “reusable” are?Reusable spaceship is the biggie.
Imagine if cars, boats and planes were single use.
People who have never been in leadership positions tend to devalue leadership...I think we are seeing a lot of that here today.
