The Elon Musk Twitter shitshow

I pretty much am quitting Twitter today. Only reason I have not yet is the war. Just pathetic.

Why? What is pathetic?

Why are you so opposed to a platform addressing unwanted web scraping that doesn’t affect 99.9% of it’s users? This only affects assholes scraping data for free against the terms of service?

Who looks at 10,000 posts at day? Raise your hand.

Dude get off Musk’s cock for two seconds and open your eyes. They made the platform so if you got a blue check mark, you were ok, if not, the site is basically broken. He wants subscribers and money. It has blown up bad today and marks the end of Twitter. Everyone is 100 percent realizing it is over and going elsewhere. Complete **** up today. Heck the news and government services using it for important info like warning of weather were unable to post weather warnings. And they did this with now warning and a shifting number of reads. That you still will exceed in 5 minutes. Musk just ****ed around and is going to find out that no, we don’t have to have Twitter.

Oh and Disney, Apple, Amazon, State Farm, United Airlines, T-Mobile, Sony, McDonald’s and Microsoft. those kinds of schmucks. Little people.

Since Mr. Musk’s takeover in October and his moves to eliminate more than 75 percent of the company’s work force, Twitter has become less stable, with features or the whole site sometimes going down without explanation.

On Saturday, engineers in the company raced to diagnose the problem in private Slack channels, according to two employees. Those people said that Twitter salespeople asked what they should tell their advertising clients as they realized that some ads were not being displayed on the social network.

Twitter’s U.S. advertising revenue for the five weeks from April 1 to the first week of May was $88 million, down 59 percent from a year earlier, according to an internal presentation obtained by The New York Times.

Linda Yaccarino told Twitter staff they need to deploy "hand-to-hand combat" to win back advertisers who abandoned the platform, the Financial Times reported.

The new Twitter CEO reportedly made these comments in a meeting with the global sales team earlier this month, where she spoke about the need for hard work to convince companies to advertise with the platform, per the FT.

Oh and it is not looking at 10,000 posts a day, I can assure you that. You basically scroll through about 20 things and you exceeded it.

Can someone see if they paid their Google cloud bill …

Oh right the run a hit piece every week outlet run by a criminal CEO who stole millions from his clients during dotcom bust, was banned from securities industry for life and fined $2M. He is probably super trustworthy and has no ulterior motives running that hit piece. Thanks for sharing it!

Must be an interesting place to work at.

Twitter has resumed paying its Google Cloud contract, according to Bloomberg. If you missed the initial news of the impending showdown, Platformer reported on June 10th that Twitter had been refusing to pay Google for its cloud services ahead of their contract’s June 30th renewal date. The possibility of losing access to Google’s infrastructure led to a frantic rush at Twitter to migrate as many of its services off of Google’s servers. However, that effort was reportedly “running behind schedule,” opening the door for some of the company’s in-house tools to go offline come the end of the month.

The fact that you’ve never acknowledged ANY problems at Twitter at any time is telling.

You think today was good customer service and the delivery of a good product?

Carry on.

I was told Twitter would die within 3 months post Musk takeover on here. All the firings would ruin the company….blah blah blah.

Twitter is still the best breaking news source on Earth. That has not changed.

@Phenomenally Frantastic you are one weird dude. You actually have some good thoughts and ideas and clearly are intelligent but have massive blinders on for Musk. Not only is he not infallible but his decline recently is very clear and apparent. You can still love Tesla and Space X and distance yourself from Elon being the second coming.

Today will be a turning point. Everywhere in the corners I follow everyone was asking where a new platform to move to was and all were pissed and ready to move on. FSU fans, Ukraine tweeters, News people, weather people, humor people, onlyfans girls, MAGA whiners. Everyone.

Today was the day Twitter began to die.

And Linda Yaccarino has since learned that she will violate her non-compete clauses if she directly engages in recruiting advertisers to Twitter.

Apparently you have not been following

Post in thread 'This might be a little tougher than Putin thought...'

The coup was covered extensively, on Twitter.
No it wasn't. It was a portion of coverage/ease/access that we've seen during other news events such as Arab spring or Ukraine war. Numerous pieces have discussed it.

See what the poster is talking about, you can't say anything about twitter or musk. Ever. It's a sorry sight to see.

I mean you can like him, you can think he ls great. When you keep claiming nothing he has ever done wrong, you just lose all credibility. No one, no one anywhere says the coup was covered extensively or well as providing accurate and detailed info.

Just pull up the thread and scroll, obviously you havent.

It does bother me when people say shit like this. Saying something that is not possible to know. Have you read every post of mine on every thread? Of course not. Can you possibly know whether I’ve ever disagreed with Elon? No.

Some things I’ve disagreed with Musk on.

Poorly handling the Twitter transition, callously firing whole teams, not having a plan, being an idiot with that fellow over in Europe who didnt know if he was fired or not.

Banning reporters for retweeting his geolocation breaking the terms of services knowingly and willingly. Seemed petty. I said so on this site.

Disagree with his Ukraine take on negotiating with Russia and hate his Russian shill buddy David Sacks. Think he is a POS.

His covid takes lately are extreme and I think RFK Jr is a nutbag.

I think he regularly instigates controversy in order to drive traffic to his site. The problem I have is that I’ve been following him long enough to know what he is up to and stupid gullible people continually react to his shenanigans in a highly serious and emotionally manner when at times he is CLEARLY TROLLING people. I think these people have low IQs. Many of his detractors are just plain dumb human beings. They can’t help themselves.

Fran probably thinks it's great though. He loves free speech so much he thinks it should be limited

No but I do think the companies that are scraping the platform for data against the terms of service without paying for it like OpenAI are dicks. If Twitter wants to take measures to limit their ability to do that, so freaking what?

Who said Twitter would have no limits or rules in perpetuity? No one, this is an asinine argument.
