"COVID escaped from a high-tech research lab in China" was continually called out as a racist statement, to the point of needing to be suppressed/flagged by media and government
"COVID came about because of the way Chinese people eat bats and racoons in filthy wet markets" was...super not racist?

I am not sure I remember things that way? I seem to recall a desire to avoid calling it stupid names like Wuhan Flu and the China Virus and there being some real anger directed at asian people by a very small portion of the dumbest of dumb throughout the US (and world) as things got bad.
I think any resistance to calling out the high tech bio lab as a potential source is simply because a) it is very hard to prove and could be wrong and more importantly b) a huge chunk of idiots will then say it was intentional and all part of some ridiculous conspiracy theory for new world order and big pharm profit.

It does matter where it came from. It does matter when Fauci pushes the narrative that it was natural versus from a lab, when he had received info stating otherwise.
He was deceptive if not flat out lying. We should expect more.

Dr Fauci never downplay the seriousness of Covid, he always stressed precautions.
Some believe Trump because they're brainwashed, they believe him over our judicial system and it's truth is in the fact that the right wing never says a word about Trump purposely downplaying Covid. It's excused without question.
Maybe Dr Fauci did misrepresent information but he didn't purposely kill anyone. Focusing on Fauci while totally ignoring Trump is absolutely mindboggling.

No real scientist would conclude that covid came from nature because Sars and mers did. This is lazy science.
